QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ Oct 8 2023, 04:01 PM) free speed upgrade 2023 applicable to new install and existing subscribers until 4th October. Change account from 5th October AND still hoping to get permanent upgrade is a gamble. True, based on released doc, it may be somewhat of a gamble for those after 4th October but if it is, TM's way of handling things would be absolutely dogshit. TM Point, CS chat online, and Call 100 CS have all unilaterally told me its a perpertual 500mbps upgrade.

QUOTE(July 2nd @ Oct 9 2023, 01:28 AM) So I've got exactly the same plan as yours. I did ask for 2 mesh routers as claimed by others but was told that system shows I'm already equipped with a Fiberhome ax1800 since last year therefore no routers will be provided here. I'm not sure whether system doesn't allow the registration of new equipments or the staff chose to ignore the free mesh add-on due to my existing router considers the latest, at least for them? Live chat thrice but random answers given. 2 out of 3 claimed package doesn't include any mesh while another one reassures that any plan movement up to 100mbps will get free mesh routers. And when I asked ultimate plus is add-on or bundled, at first she said nope, swu3.0 ultimate plus is what you can give the package, not add-on ultimate plus, so not include mesh wifi, but then she said I can get ax3000 for swu3.0 instead of old ax1800 before I switched so no longer in use...🙃 At the end when I asked if swu3.0 tv packs add-on available, she said for now there's no answer from my side, any feedback will be notified again... Btw, report created. I also asked online CS regarding TV packs to bundle/add-on with SWU3.0 but they don't know and told me they have informed UnifiTV team which will apparently contact me soon. You signed up SWU3.0 with latest Ultimate Plus pack?

QUOTE(yongtjunkit @ Oct 9 2023, 12:22 PM) Hi, just wondering if it’s normal for me to receive 500mbps when I’m standing next to the router but when there’s a wall in between, I would only get 300+ Mbps? I’m using asus rt-ax92u Normal for WiFi connection as anything in between your device and the router is interference, even more so for 5GHz connection as it doesn't penetrate walls as well as 2.4GHz. So the more things you have in between, the worse out your connection and speed will be.

QUOTE(NimalKumar @ Oct 9 2023, 05:20 PM) Oh means the SWU3 package is 119 for 300 and might get up to 500 isit? Ideally I just wanna retain my price of 89 and expected I would get 300 for 89 (yes now it sounds ridiculous even to me hahaha). Thought that I would atleast get bill waivers and a new router but if it requires a spike in the bill then I guess I have to pass. 100Mbps is my limit then. Also, anyone here using TPLink AX20 router? Does it support 100Mbps? Yeah it can, I originally used TP-Link AX20 and it can hit 500mbps no problem when I was still on 2018 Turbo Upgrade. Now I just use their provided router since it has mesh for my SWU3.0.

QUOTE(The.Lucas.DaY @ Oct 9 2023, 10:42 PM) Hi, is this TP-AX23 router good enough for a 2-sty house with 500Mbps plan? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This looks like the updated version of my original TP Link AX-20. If you're using just this one router and nothing else (e.g. mesh, etc.), you're only going to get full 500Mbps WiFi speed right infront of the router or at most one wall away. My room which was upstairs and furthest from the router could only achieve around 50-100Mbps WiFi Speed on laptop/mobile. Of course if you are referring to cable, then yes 500Mbps is reachable.

QUOTE(The.Lucas.DaY @ Oct 9 2023, 10:56 PM) Just using 1 router for all wifi devices, the wifi coverage is my most concern, 50-100Mbps in upstair is acceptable. I'm actually buying 1 for my sibling, which upstair has no connection at all using the tm stock router, coincidentally saw this router with 10.10 promo and deciding to place order 2.4GHz line whole house able to reach no issue with full WiFi Range, the speed of course cannot be compared to 5GHz. 5GHz line however, my room which is the furthest upstairs is usually only 1/2 bars (half the max range), sometimes the line might drop all together. My router placement is living room and close to center of the house. Your experience of course might differ if you have an even larger house and thicker walls, etc.

QUOTE(abcdef123456 @ Oct 10 2023, 11:31 AM) I have exactly the same issue as yours. I could get full speed 500+/100+ using lan cable w/o any issue. But wifi is struggling to even get back my previous 300mbps speedtest even with 5ghz. I could still get 300 and highest is around 330+ (this is due to my ipad pro limitation), but it seems like need time to get stable. Currently average with 5ghz is like around 180-200 QUOTE(westlife @ Oct 10 2023, 02:13 PM) correct. same prob. i could not get full speed when i am on my wifi (not even until the max speed of 300Mbps i can get in the past after switching to 500Mbps). dun know what is the prob. i know that i may not be able hit the maximum speed of 500Mbps due to wireless limitation but it does not make sense that it could not even hit the previous max speed which i can hit after the upgrade. Are you guys using any of the mesh routers that was provided by TM for SWU3.0?

QUOTE(Max2006 @ Oct 10 2023, 03:05 PM) Check previous official thread. There's a few comments about the dlink mesh routers. Some said very good, some said not so good. I guess it depends on which router you are using currently. Have to compare with your own router then only know it's better or worse. Although most of the time people always claim that unifi router is rubbish. As for me, I have no comment since I still keep using my own router. I got the Fiberhome version which is okay-ish except I am also facing similar issues as them. Something is limiting the WiFi speed to 300Mbps download, but upload has no issue with consistent 100Mbps+. Testing on my phone using WiFi 5GHz right infront of the router should definitely achieve 500Mbps download. I achieved it previously with my TP-Link AX20. The Fiberhome is AX3000 whereas the TP-Link I had was AX1800, so no reason the router shouldn't achieve the same results. Unless having two routers in mesh affects the download speed on the main router?

QUOTE(tzxsean @ Oct 10 2023, 04:15 PM) Anyone here facing inconsistent connection speed after free speed upgrade? Actually thinking back I encountered this problem since last week before the swu3.0 and free speed upgrade Although now I’m under 500mbps speed package, my connection speed is around 300mbps or below Same issue here, you tested on WiFi and LAN?

Just checked with CS online, there is definitely something wrong with the wireless output of their given Fiberhome AX3000. LAN cable connection can hit 500Mbps download without issue, but wireless 5GHz connection can only achieve 300Mbps max even though I am right infront of it with a WiFi 6 capable device. Waiting further response from TM.

QUOTE(JayceOoi @ Oct 10 2023, 05:12 PM) This is normal with budget wireless router. WiFi will be slow. My Fiberhome still new in the box. Better get ASUS router if want better wireless performance. I don't think it's normal if it is AX3000 and I am directly right infront of it. My budget TP-Link AX20 is AX1800 and it hit 500Mbps without issue on WiFi.

QUOTE(JayceOoi @ Oct 10 2023, 05:20 PM) Correct. Yours is TP-Link. So much better. AX3000 performs the same as AX1800 if your smartphone does not support 160Mhz bandwidth. Based on my past experience, TM don't entertain you on wireless performance. As long as LAN performance is okay, case closed. But you can keep trying and ask them to give other brand's router. Well it's performing worse than my AX1800 router before, so this Fiberhome AX3000 is even more shit than AX1800? Fk me. I'm not sure those that got D-Link face the same issue or not, damn.

QUOTE(wanttobuylaptop @ Oct 10 2023, 05:34 PM) ur fiberhome is configure as mesh right? Mesh will only have one ssid, combine both 2.4 and 5ghz wifi. Check if you device is connect to 5ghz in network details. Nope I didn't set WiFi Banding, both are separate. I'm connected to 5GHz. QUOTE(tzxsean @ Oct 10 2023, 05:49 PM) Only on wifi so far Cant find my LAN cable lol I managed to get 500mbps right after installation done but it went downhill few days later My LAN can reach 500Mbps download no issue. Only WiFi has been the issue, can never achieve that speed. QUOTE(tzxsean @ Oct 10 2023, 05:56 PM) How about 2.4ghz connection? Im not at home now cant test it out 2.4GHz I am getting 150Mbps download right infront router.

Wait your iPhone still can achieve 500Mbps infront of the router using 5GHz? You have the same router as me right? Fiberhome SR1041F?

QUOTE(tzxsean @ Oct 10 2023, 06:45 PM) no ... i didn't tweak except disable 2.4ghz connection just now all done by the Unifi technician Damn well, Im absolutely clueless. This Fiberhome doesn't have much info online available. If we got the D-Link, there is an entire webpage from D-Link about the product itself, plus more information. Welp, need to look at other options I suppose. This post has been edited by SwarmTroll: Oct 10 2023, 07:10 PM

QUOTE(Max2006 @ Oct 10 2023, 07:17 PM) It's more than ok bro. I checked the spec and watched some YouTube before buying. Tuf ax4200 is for 1gbps and above users. 😆 I don't think TP-Link AX53 can mesh together with my AX20 right? It seems it can only mesh with those extender thingies. Not sure if AX53 is that much more better than my AX20 tho.

QUOTE(abcdef123456 @ Oct 11 2023, 07:46 AM) I am using tplink Ax73, yesterday i tried the method suggested in other thread by changing the bandwidth of 5ghz to 20/40/80mhz (was 20/40mhz), my speedtest can reach 450 and above now but its not everytime i could get this. Overall the performance is better than when it was set to 20/40 only for 5ghz. I also fix the wifi channel for it, first time i did for 5ghz. Will see again how is the performance. However our concern is still why cant we even get back the previous max speed of 300mbps after the upgrade, nothing was changed in the setting. The AX73's 5GHz can also try to do 160mhz, you may turn on that as well for greater bandwidth, but it might cause more interference with others like your neighbours, no harm testing. You have tried doing WiFi Analyzer to check frequency congestion right before you choose WiFi channel correct? You should be able to hit 400Mbps++ everytime if you're close infront of the router, and since you are saying you can reach 450Mbps, I'm not sure why you are also saying you cannot get back previous max speed? I am also getting the AX73 for RM399, did you recently get yours and how much? This post has been edited by SwarmTroll: Oct 11 2023, 10:00 AM

WiFi Sifu's, I'm using 80MHz for my 5GHz and currently at channel 149. From my understanding, DFS channels between 50-144 should be avoided, so that leaves channels outside that range. The front channels like 36-48 I'm not going to bother with as it's jam packed with a lot of neighbouring AP's. However, I realise that I have one neighbouring AP using channel 149/153 that is very close to me. Should I move further up like channel 161 or just stay where I am in channel 149? Or other suggestions?
