Nakeds, fully faired or others?, Let's see which is the preferred style!

Between 1) Naked bike (well, you know what this is) 2) Fully faired sport tourer (e.g. R1250RS, GSX-s1000GT, V100 Mandello) 3) Fully faired sport bike (e.g. ZX6R, S1000RR) 4) ADV (you know this too). Which would be your choice?

Naked Bike [ 25 ] ** [43.10%]
Fully faired sport tourer [ 11 ] ** [18.97%]
Fully faired sport bike [ 7 ] ** [12.07%]
ADV [ 7 ] ** [12.07%]
Cruiser [ 5 ] ** [8.62%]
Scrambler [ 3 ] ** [5.17%]

Yup, that's my SV up for sale. It is an X so it comes with the sportbike posture but without a sportbike fairing. Someone asked me if it was possible to convert it back to a non X model...I told him it would not make financial sense and better instead to look for a used non X. People buy the X for what it is.

Pegs at same position. It only changes the rider triangle to be a little more comfortable. But the cost is not worth it IMHO. Not just the handles, the cables need to be changed as well.

I would choose ADV if there are lighter bikes than the existing ADV bikes >500cc.

If only they still make the light ADV bikes like BMW HP2 Enduro or the KTM LC4 640 Adventure R...

A few key matters but my job doesn't allow me much time to ride for now so I might as well let it go to someone who can appreciate it better. It has just 7700km on the clock. For a bike registered in 2021, that's quite low. It is a 2019 bike by the way. I'll get back to biking for sure in about 2 years. Till then I'll take short rides if I feel the urge on my brother's bikes.

Ya I noticed too. This is aligned with the products brought out by manufacturers as well. I thought they just made it because of the global market without much regard to our tiny market. Hence, I was wondering about the situation in Malaysia, whether or not it followed the global landscape. But I am glad that CF Moto (500SR & 650SR), QJ (600RC) and the Japanese big 4 are coming back with fully faired bikes, whether full (or mini) sports bike like the ZX25R or ZX4R. or those based on nakeds like the R7, the R9, maybe the GSX8R and also the CBR750 based on the Hornet. I love fully faired bikes though... biggrin.gif

Its all about the compromises one is willing to make.

If only one bike, perhaps a street/retro scrambler type bike. Say a triumph scrambler 900, or a cheaper 700CLX.

Add a windshield, good for highway. Long flat seat means you can move about to whatever lean you want or just sit upright. With proper tyres, can do light to moderate offroading. Not too heavy about 200kg wet.

Right now, I'm pretty happy with my dominar despite its shortcomings, something I already known and willing to live with until a later time. I have it setup as a low cost mini touring/adv bike. Can handle light offroading, decent wind protection with my headlight riser and windshield. Just enough power for highway. Fun enough in the twisties. Most importantly, Cheap as fuck to not worry about trashing it and doing big miles. Mine seems to have avoided most of the lemon issues..now approaching 60k in 2.5years.

In any case, no point owning a garage queen.

It is easy. Rear seat a little narrow though so if passenger butt not too wide should be oklah. Passenger can either grab the centre strap or your tummy biggrin.gif

If the SVX has been sold, I can still take my brother's Dominar 400 or CFMoto 650GT or R25 plus, he still has the Naza Cruise 650 and other weird bikes.
