We are very light users and we switch our phones off after dinner haha. No FB, IG, YT.

i try to reduce my screen time as well. maybe one of the reasons im ok with 60hz IP15. Dun wan to be glued to my phone 24/7. usually me after 9.30 will off phone data ady . go do other things (house chores / sports / reading / light console games ) b4 bed.

Same philosophy here. My Epal phones are relatively stock. One thing I do prefer iOS over Android is the relative (for now) safety when it comes to banking Apps because there are far fewer jailbreaks with Apples as opposed to Android devices.

I used samsung flagships before . Their One UI secured with Knox so far ok. Never had any trouble. Can't comment for other androids on the market, though.

But 1 problem since android allows apk. the apk files are what made ppl fall to the scams/hack on banking apps. If someone didn't know any better about random apk's, well you'll see them in the news tomorrow " xxx lost ... to scams ......"

If not for the alarm I would also prefer to switch my phone off before bed. With some fb and YT usage my 15 Plus can last 1.5 days, sometimes 2 days before I need to charge.

Problem is sideloading APK files sometimes drive ppl to look for mod stuff, games, spotify, etc. They only have them selves to be blame. Some Android ui like Miui are full of ads, I'm just too lazy to do all the necessary settings or change rom even for secondary device.

Yup, that's about all it will do for the regular user considering the relatively small-sh battery. Only if you are a super light user will it go beyond a day.

I mean I'm sure we'll keep these phones around for 3 or 5 years or more, and at some point AI is gonna be widely adopted in that time frame and 15 and 15 Plus owners would be missing out, no?

I would think that any purchase now is not recommended. Wait for iPhone 16 and see what the AI final spec requirement will be. After watching the recent WWDC, their AI is actually not ready. It is just a concept and some functions will have to be implemented later into 2025.

It is sad because my months old iPhone 15 plus is not eligible for this new AI. But that is Apple. They don't give extra hardware headroom. It is always about maximising profit. When I look at Samsung camp, their years old galaxy devices are getting AI treatment.

My only advice now: DON’T BUY CURRENT iPhones. Just wait for iPhone 16 .

I'm a 15 Plus user. At this point I probably won't care about missing out of the AI race as long as apps like Chat GPT can run on this phone. There is nothing so significant that it would affect the way I use my phone without the AI.

Ya, my point exactly. I think the 15 and 15 Plus is a hard sell now, given how it's public knowledge that it'll miss out on the AI features. Apple certainly did 15 and 15 Plus owners some injustice there. I was considering getting a 15 for my kid (who has outgrown his 12 Mini) but think I will wait for the 16 now - coz I want him to use the phone for at least 5 years..

I understand this completely, but I just think it'd be nice to have all the features available including AI when the phone commands a premium pricing. Especially considering most iPhone users use their phone for a number of years.

You got a point there, consider even the S23 from last year can still get AI.
But granted the discount, have to just swallow it. I also change after 5-6 years of usage.

The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus run on the old A16 iPhone 14Pro chip…. It was already obsolete in terms of processor and processing power the minute it hit the market.
