i would say the stock cooler for 3870 is good enough for mild oc.

who told you it's insufficient?
3870 will not die even the load temperature reach 95C.
so basically if you don't oc, your card most likely will be fine with default bios.

9600GT is much cheaper than 8800GT.
9600GT ~ old 8800GTS 320MB.

it depends imo.
example: yesterday you bought a 8800GTS 640mb at rm1400 but today you can get the 8800GT 512MB at rm950.
another one: yesterday you bought a e6850 at rm900, but today you can get the e8400 at rm750.

do you think it worths the wait?
