Im using the 3870 for almost a week now..compare it to 2900xt 1gb DDR4 that I have previously, still have the same issue...quite dissappointed. even with the 7.11 driver still same issue.

I had the AA problem with NFS: Pro Street, Company of Heroes and Command & Conquer 3 ... other game I had not even want to try to activate the AA a all .. sien ...

there were two more game that had problem with: Tomb Raider Legend and TR Anniversary

I hope the issue is really solved with this new card but seems like it isn't ...

Anyone else that have tried 3870 with AA enable  ??

Really nice scores from the 3870. Looks like their driver optimizations are late, but coming.

Question is though, are those tests done with AA? Because IIRC the 2900 has somewhat broken AA units and does it via Shader ALU instead.

Anyways, Powercolor has allocated 30 3870s for Malaysia. 30. Three Zero. Not Thirty thousand. AMD lies about shitty yields and supply issues.

Atleast they're better than HIS. HIS only allocated 20

i'm using rivatuner to adjust the fan speed.. oc to 891/1315, the core remains at 40c idle.. hehe.. dropped from 62c idle @ 25c fan speed

No the problem we are facing doesnt deal with the game engine itself...its stuttering intro movies...specifically the EA, Intel, NVIDIA intro and the main menu...the odd thing is the crytek logo goes smoothly..

We had no problem with these movies using NVIDIA before this...im quite sure its a software thing...either something screwed up in the driver...or a codec went missing...I have no problem with any other games intro movies..

How do u guys keep the temp stable? Used the bios for 800/2000 but idle temp is a bit high. tried using rivatuner but can only set it 100% at the fixed speed option, which is a bit loud.

i tried s1 + 2 panaflo on 3870..even load is lower than 50c..idle 43/44c

based on 2 days chance playing with 3870.. i could only notice 1 advantage of this 3870 over the 8800gt  in single card config.. which is movie playback quality.. i'd tested playing transformers in hd format and the image is far2 i can say a lot better than the  8800gt.. the color is richer, more  details etc..

but in terms of gaming, and benching, i can say it disappoint me.. yeah it might be good in gaming, but not as good as 8800gt.. i played 3 games.. which are crysis, nfs pro street and pes2008.. using fraps, i dun notice any major area where this 3870 manage to has higher fps than 8800gt.. even in pes2008 i got a flickering screen in certain period..  i dunno.. hopefully it will be solved in the next driver..

for benchies.. as we all shud know already, single 8800gt is better than the 3870.. by quite a margin.. not really sure bout dual card setup.. would love to try it but the only thing that holding me is there's no good c2d board that support SLI that i think is worth to buy..

eh? u can come to my house .. i can show u.. but resolution only 1024x768 la .. 1440x900 also ok but lag sometimes so i chose to run it at 1024x768 ... all in all nice card nwayz HD3850... cheap cheap
