Need to get it yourself directly from JPJ. Tesla will only fit the new EV plate for newly delivered cars.
![]() https://jpjeplate.jpj.gov.my/homepage/ It costs RM98 per set and needs to make appointment with fitment center to install it. |

QUOTE(AmyDazz @ Sep 20 2024, 07:44 AM) Wow! Good for you. I know we can get free wall connector. But how did you get the mobile connector for free? Is it official free gift by Tesla Malaysia or did you need to beg from your SA or DA? He bought Model Y Performance with current ongoing promotion which is free mobile connector.Btw, your car is Model 3 or Model Y? Thanks. |

QUOTE(l2k @ Oct 8 2024, 01:41 PM) Hi, anyone can comment how good/ bad is the Tesla navigation compare to Google map/ waze? Didn't test this during my test drive unfortunately. I remember reading somewhere that premium connectivity will enable traffic information. Personally, I'm quite fed up with the navigation in Tesla. If I'm going to familiar places then I'll still use it for the sake of battery % estimation. If you're going somewhere unfamiliar, it's really risky. One of my most hated "issue" is that it tends to give unnecessary guides when I am just suppose to go straight. For example, when you're driving on a straight road and there is an left exit coming up, Waze / Google Maps would not even ping you to do anything (which naturally means to stay on your lane and continue to go straight). But Tesla navigation just tell you to keep right in xxx meters which in fact is just to keep on your current straight lane. I got confused so many times on unfamiliar roads by this unnecessary guide. Also, the navigation tends to give you last minute direction. By the time it gives you alert, you're almost at the intersection already and if you're not on the correct lane, good luck and go straight to reroute again. QUOTE(Agent001 @ Oct 8 2024, 03:29 PM) Can i get opinion on white seats from owners? Can tahan? Have 2 kids on child seats, so undecided between black or white seats. I have 2 kids too (3 year old and 5 year old), still opt for white interior as I really like how it look.White seats gives the car a different feel..... Black seats and interior are way too common, you rarely get a choice to get white interior in a car. Doesn't mean the black interior is bad at all, it looks good too, just my personal choice to go with white. It's all up to you. celciuz liked this post

QUOTE(Moderna @ Oct 25 2024, 10:48 AM) Thats very low. Are you sure about this? SR with 18” doesn’t even reach 450km but the SA said it should reach about 500km It is, I am RWD owner.438KM is the EPA standard, which is considered the more conservative standard compared to WLTP, but it is slightly closer to real world range. It mainly depends on your route, traffic, weather, elevation and driving behavior. If you're full on highway with fixed speed at around 100-110kmh, I think its not difficult to hit 500km range. If you're on daily city drive with stop and go traffic, especially lots of short distance travel, you'll likely see a range of only 300km++. I'm currently living in Sri Petaling area with daily commute bringing kids go and back from childcare center, and most of the trips are very short distance. My 100% > 20% gets me roughly 250km-280km of range only. FYI my daily route is considered very unoptimized for fuel or electricity consumption, even last time with my Honda Civic also getting around 250km only for ~RM65-70 tank of petrol. celciuz liked this post

QUOTE(gobiomani @ Oct 25 2024, 12:11 PM) For electric cars, isn't it supposed to be more efficient in city drive and less efficient for highway driving? Theoretically, yes. But also do take into account that EV are a lot heavier than ICE counterparts.Anyway, I can see that Tesla's range and efficiency is off by a big margin compared to other manufacturers. The Koreans seem to be the most accurate. Tesla's range shown in the car doesn't even change when the AC is on or off. And some idiots complain that other EVs range become shorter when on AC but Tesla is the best no changes when on AC. For my case, Model 3 RWD is more than 400kg heavier than Civic and that kind of offset the efficiency of EV especially in very short trips with lots of traffic. The car has to repeatedly push a stationery 1760kg object to move forward and stop, not to mention in elevated roads (and we also have lots of speed bumps). In the highway, do notice that I specified "fixed 100-110kmh" speed. Anything above that or any sudden acceleration, you'll lose battery SoC a lot faster. The key is to stay on constant speed and minimize sudden accelerations, then your range will be closer or even better than the rated range. Since switching to EV, my foot has became so gentle nowadays. Tesla's est. range is off by quite a lot if you're referring to WLTP. I am also quite puzzled why did Tesla display WLTP on their MY website but using EPA in their car. Should just standardize it to reduce the misaligned expectations from customer. I guess they use WLTP to make their cars ranges look better on paper compared to the competitions. |

I got my car with 90+% SoC. But on my collection day the whole SuperCharger section got closed off due to too many cars pending delivery parked there, so no luck to use it for me. I used Destination Charger though, just simply for the sake of learning how to charge it.

Some minor details I noticed in holiday update 2024.44.25.2 not mentioned in the release note :
- Christmas / Santa mode now make the ambient light switch between red, green, and white - Rear display no longer take over the car audio as soon as it starts any video playing app; instead, there is a prompt at front display to ask if allow rear display to take over the car audio. This is especially useful for me as previously every time my kid get up the rear seats, he'll just launch YouTube and my radio/Spotify will immediately stopped and audio took over by the rear display. I felt like I finally gotten back the control of the car now - Auto wiper seems to be working slightly better than before... or maybe is my wrong feeling, still monitoring. |

Sorry if this has been asked before - has anyone tried to do tire rotation at Tesla service center before? I tried to request service from within Tesla app and gotten a cost estimate of RM362 for just tire rotation, which I felt is very much on the high side. I know this can be done outside, just that with the experience with many tire shops out there, many are not really experienced with dealing with EVs or Tesla, specifically. I would want to avoid damaging either the bottom of the car while jacking up (if didn’t do properly) or scratch/damage the wheel cover or rim…
Recommendations of any good and experienced tire shop that you’ve experienced are welcome… KL area. Thank you 🙏🏻 |

Done my 10k km tire rotation + balancing + alignment at Quick Save USJ. Their workers are familiar with Tesla and they have the jack pads available. Total costs was RM113.40. Thanks for the recommendation. joshgm_119, ye0073, and 4 others liked this post

Hands free autopilot is such a quality of life improvement for long distance drive.
You can now rest your hand on your lap while on autopilot, just make sure to concentrate on the road and have your palm facing upward near the steering wheel and the system will not nag you to apply pressure periodically. |
