QUOTE(lawrencesha @ Aug 18 2023, 11:18 AM) When buy jewelry type gold, you buy the gold, + workmanship. When you sell, you only sell the gold. Even if gold price increase, you already rugi. Unless you are buying bullions, gold is not an investment.i bought some of em back in 2000s, price was under rm40 per gram now?

QUOTE(MishimaZ @ Aug 18 2023, 11:06 AM) Any gold shop will take it. From what i experienced, usually the weight X current price and then deduct 15-25% as they wont be paying 100% for profit. And people still say gold is good investment. Jewellery is bad for investment Gold bars and bullion are good for investment. You are mis guided.

Do you have the receipt? Gold shop will ask for receipt to prove ownership. They don't want to deal with stolen goods. If no receipt some shops will accept but lowball you.

Your bracelet is NOT 999 gold. It's 916. 999 is too soft to be made into jewelry.
I sold my jewelry here, which is off old klang road.
MS Gold Bullion Sdn Bhd
I compared jewelry shop vs jewel4cash vs this ms gold bullion. This ms gold bullion gave best price.

QUOTE(JimbeamofNRT @ Aug 18 2023, 11:28 AM) i bought some of em back in 2000s, price was under rm40 per gram now? You have to compare this with FD. Example the same amount of money you put in FD for the same period, what is the value now? Cannot just look at absolute numbers. Even if gold is higher than FD, question is, is it higher than other easily available investment option? What is the cost of holding the gold? SDB rental, etc?

I you want high price sell personally. I want to sell fast, any gold jewellery shop will take, but probably around 30% less than market price i think. Btw, do you mind sharing the picture and weight?
