Another alternative

Get a babysitter that can take care night time

Get part time cleaner

Guarantee less headache than live in helper

... else u pull yr weight and help out..

1: get fresh one without working experience

2: if forced to, avoid those worked in saudi arabs(is it called middle east?).

3: prepare your job scope, send to your agent, their agent and the potential maid first before making any interviews.

4; philipines one are more educated, anything they dont like, they will report it to their embassy EVEN if its just a minor issue. ie-cibye majikan tak kasi saya makan at 7am.

5: if possible, deal with them extra pay with NO holiday OUTSIDE your house. some will say they wan holiday OUTSIDE the house with their friends, relatives, fukbuddy or whatever they want. holiday can, just stay in house and diam diam duduk sana.
and the list go on.

Hahaha my experience total opposite

1&2
1st Filipino maid fresh without working experience. 4th week cry wanna go back dy. wanna go see parents.
dingdong2 with agent and they agree to give replacement maid for free.
So choose one with working experience. worked in Kuwait for 2 year. turned out to be excellent.

3&4
this one also no strict job scope. just jaga anak clean house help wife to cook.
when nothing to do she also sit watch tv or whatever. janji kerja jalan.
she also prefer like this no need everyday order her to do something
no specific day off also since most of the time not much work also

5.
my maid 6th year now with us. no outside holiday. she went back Philippines twice (1 month each)
but everywhere we go we bring her along la.. makan or holiday. so she also not too fussy.
embassy got call her for interview also she say all ok no problem.
never complain about working & holiday arrangements

If not mistaken Pinoy maid require RM20k agent fee and minimum salary RM3k, in contrast indon maid require RM10-15k agent fee and minimum salary around RM2k

Oh ya in return Pinoy maid will request for Sunday off day.

err...see how u look at it.
not like we dont give her holiday. she can choose which day she wants in the contract.
still being paid for that specific "holiday". no need do anything, u can just laze around the house. makan minum still ditanggung.

why cannot go out?becos u dont want them to bring more problems home.

later become pregnant, sue you for rape. and you in jail while waiting for DNA test report. itupun IF you managed to get one before they run away.

last time our family hired one filipino maid who worked in Jordan (a few years) and she was very good in cooking meat dishes

she worked for us for ~5 years and i think the experience is good. she's well educated (degree i think) and can speak english so unlike those indon maids that we had

Not that easy, they are staying in your house. It is not like a normal workplace where you leave for your own home at the end of the day. And they are there in your house together with your kids/aged parents and all your valuables when you are not around. It takes time to build trust.

A long time ago, one of our first maids, we were pretty relaxed about it. Imagine our shock when we came back after dinner and she was entertaining around 5-6 of her friends in our house. We talked to her after they left and asked her not to invite her friends over in the future. We changed maids not long after that.

Nowadays, we don't care so much, because the current maid has been with us for so long. But in the beginning, yes, I can see where the concern comes from.

EXACTLY! No1 is the best option.

No 5 is a must!!! Once out, they will want more... Never ever give them out, they will come back and tell u their friend get better perks, etc, and start to show face and demanding...

You suck as an employer. No wonder Malaysia maids get abused. Have some human decency to let them out once per week..u try staying in someone's home 24/7 for years on.

I don't have a maid at all but I hired one local early educator who's 28 to help watch my two year old son while I'm at work and she will pick him and send him to his doctor/dentist/hair cut appointments.

Much much easier than hiring a maid.

No thanks. I'll never hire a maid to jaga my kid 24/7. I feel like I failed as a parent and as an adult to have one. Work until cannot clean the house or jaga the kids on weekends and night? Or cook? Sorry maid=modern day slavery

If they had the choice they wouldn't wanna be one
