Pisang goreng in Malaysia. 1. Made from black pisang. Basically rotten. 2. Fried in blacked oil. Basically no longer considered oil, more like grease. 3. Two words. Cheese meleleh. 4. Kerak / Hbuk / Ranggup sagethesausage liked this post

Fully covered in black or at least with maximum black dots possible. And covered in black bag to induce ripening gas ethylene production. https://www.google.com.my/maps/@3.1317981,1...i8192?entry=ttu So end up with just fried flour with something mushy/rot content. And oil soaked. |

I can see why they get Michelin award.
Over here, local sellers don't make enough money, neither think through why those processes are good. |

It has to have a high standard and look at how many Michelin awarded restaurants are helm by c _ _ _ _ _ e race?i bought banana fritters from multiple stalls already....this is not a race thing, bought from malay and chinese but they all have the same problem which i don't know this is a WM thingy or just seller problem are they all have pulp or seed in them?...i mean is this normal or just specific seller issue? because i've been eating banana fritters at sabah all my life and it never had seed/pulp inside so this suddenly became not normal to me i don't wanna take about the price or the batter yet....just having the pulp/seed inside, it's a huge red flag already The Brickfield pisang goreng probably is the best we have back home, but he won't get any Michelin award unless he can ramp up his production. last weekend bought pisang goreng.
sedap. rangup. bought too much until had to put in fridge. reheat next day. the next day, while eating, i found traces of long inedible things in the crunchy leftovers. i suspect are plastic straw cuts. damned. cancer-free life expectancy reduced by 1mth |

QUOTE(nuvi @ Aug 3 2023, 03:22 PM) Can't be Sabah only have 1 type of banana. Maybe you never took notice. i'm not sure because sabahan won't go around ask or care what banana the seller is usingNext time must try pisang goreng tanduk. If you press the pisang goreng it will feel soft, that means it use ripe bananas. they just buy and eat...people there don't take notice at all the banana fritters in sabah are very universal, u go buy from anywhere, it's almost the same thing and yes, almost all the banana fritters i buy in WM are soft and mushy.....the banana itself already soft, the batter also soft |
