after kena bash by this forum.. gallagher wins the motm

Haha, "shit" got player MOTM. Dude has got to be more consistent but not easy when his position is always changing as he is used like a utility player. But I do fancy a player of his profile. Academy player who keep insisting that he wants to fight for his place rather than an easy way out to another team for guaranteed minutes. He deserves a season that he can use to show to the team and players what he is capable of and why Poch fancies him and his potentials. We need another "Blue Eye Boy" after Mount departed. James.....he is always injured and away, so.....

Proud to see Mudryk scoring his first goal in EPL. Nice pass from a player that I wanted to see in his proper position, Colwill. I thought Maatsen should get a chance in his LB role but I guess Maatsen will no longer be considered for LB anymore and only considered for more offensive roles. Pity that Maatsen's shot hit the post. Good for Broja too, right place, right time and same goes for Palmer.

Another player, Cucurella. Memang like Gallagher, always kena hentam by fans. But seems like he is cooking in his second choice role as RB. When Gusto is available, would you start Cucu or Gusto?
Okay, maybe too early to speak about our players until they are really tested in the upcoming stress testing line of games.

Hope we continue this streak. Guys, I think I found the problem....ended up all the games that I didn't watch, we won. biggrin.gif

Our keeper almost every match sure got one pass to opposite player same to yesterday

If he does that in our upcoming "difficult line of games", confirmed GG. We were lucky during the match with Brighton, we didn't concede because of his one awful pass.

we won last 2 games with less possession of balls...

maybe we will be better to let other team dominate the possession, and hit them during transition, since we are oftenly clueless when we have possessions.

we have alot of speed to get something from transition play

if this carryon we might have chance against team that will dominate us with possession.

Less possession of the ball, less chance to overthink, less chance for opposition to regroup their defense properly.

Unexpected lineup but a good matchup considering the performance before Sanchez's big blunder. Was expecting to be swept away but we held it together and manage to contain both Saka and Martinelli on the wings.

A lot of starters played well minus Sanchez. Jackson was underwhelming and should have put the game to bed, disappointing. Not sure what was the point of James coming in and not replacing Gusto.

A new GK deserve a chance to start in the next game instead of Sanchez. Cukup lah.

And a serious conversation needs to be had about securing a striker, perhaps unsettled Osimhen who fits our under 25-yo players policy. If we fighting with Liverpool for his signature again, imagine we manage to snatch him as well, haha.

Chelsea fan's emotional rollercoaster continues. Just because Colwill and Cucurella was playing good in their alternative role doesn't everyone can do it. Disaster.

I guess we are only good with teams who come out to play and absolutely garbage with low block teams.

All the rumour about Tammy swap deal for big mouth king Lukaka, please no. If we are going to break the bank (again) I would like to see Osimhen. If he takes the number 9 and fails to score, we are absolutely done, haha. tongue.gif

We should just tear down the stadium, disappear, rebuild and come back when the new stadium is ready. biggrin.gif

I think we need some form of consistency and a real solid go-to lineup formation and keep at it until we are so damn good at it.

We start tinkering about with new tactical formations that made us look so silly on the pitch because some players are not used to their alternate roles.

What a game! Both teams made mistakes but one is the top team and current reigning Treble.

I think we did well holding on and believing we can do it. Hate that idiot botak referee.

Chelsea fans : Finally we can watch exciting games and we are playing decent again

International break : Hold my rootbeer

What a game to watch. Blow for blow and we took up the fight. I remember the commentator said, the last goal we scored against them was the winning goal by Havertz in the UCL Finals and we finally managed to score against them again and put 4 in.

Defense could be better but this is reigning Treble winning Man City team and we played with with Anthony Taylor as the ref.

Some games when we draw, it felt like a loss. But this, it felt like a win. What a game. Really proud of the boys today, hope we can really move forward and up from this result.

Gallagher, Jackson and James really stepped up. Fighting and confronting Man City players. And Goal Palmer could be that De Bruyne regret we had and a regret for Man City. But big respect to Pep for not minding who Man City sell the player to because they have abundance mentality.

Ahh I remember the good ol' days of some fans calling for Gallagher to be sold, labelling him useless, rubbish first touch, all he does is run, etc. Always believed in him, and glad he's turning into a kante regen. His touch, awareness, passing, and temperament have all improved exponentially and you can't deny poch has had a big role in this. (just improve on the weird lineups / subs and we're golden lol)

This is why we need to manage our expectations with certain players too imo. Can't be throwing sanchez for example under the bus so soon, when he's done well in the most important metrics you want in a keeper like shot stopping, claiming crosses, commanding the area, etc. Allison, ederson, de gea have all had high profile blunders even at this stage of their careers so I wouldn't be too quick to call for our no.1 to be sold.

However, we do need to field petrovic soon and get a gauge of how he plays, to keep sanchez on his toes. This will be the best case scenario, since top keepers aren't exactly a dime a dozen these days. Now before anyone mentions kobel just take a look at how he did last season. Some pretty comical blunders already which cost Dortmund points, and the same people will be calling for his head once it happens in royal blue.

Fortunately for us, the kind of mistakes sanchez makes can easily be remedied with proper coaching, and he's still young in goalkeeping terms so I'm not too worried.

Gallagher, Cucurella and Sterling were the few that a lot of people were asking to be sold but they stepped up. Especially Gallagher and Cucu recently with a few consistent games. Sterling needs to imagine that every game we play next is Man City, maybe that would fire him up like he did.

Really impressed with Gallagher and hope he puts pen to paper soon for a new contract, he has made it the most vocal with performance to show that he wants to play for the badge. Cucu didn't have the best of luck as I disagree with the pen awarded. VAR conveniently only looked at the pull right before Haaland fell and dismissed the pull Haaland did to get ahead of Cucu. Cucu has been quite versatile, being able to play both side. I don't recall Foden getting much of a sniff in that game.

If we are really going for Osimhen, then maybe Broja will be sacrificed as the "pure profit." But January will be tough to sign him, so maybe Jackson, Broja and Nkunku will have time to show if we really need a new striker before the June transfer window opens.

I would prefer not to rock the boat by buying and selling for the sake of doing it.

Let those guys finish up the whole season and make adjustments accordingly. Let the team building settle down first especially the 1st 11 positions. Our injuries players already starting coming back, just let them play some minutes and have an idea who will be regular or be sold
*
Agreed. Hence I believe the current squad should be given time. Who knows, Nkunku could be the offensive catalyst that we are waiting for to really fan the spark that we started to lit up.

what happened to cucu? he was best defending mitoma at RB the 1st time he came back this season..
btw, we really need replace Sanchez, whoever is better than him.. (and this match was a joke really)

Cucu picked up his dunno x number of yellow already, so he is suspended for the next game against Brighton.

We only performed against big teams, so what does this makes Newcastle, haha. For what it is worth, I hope we learned well from this game and do better when we play with NC again for the upcoming Cup game.

I felt Poch should have brought on Caicedo during the start of the second half for more defensive stability and midfield control. Ugo is still young and raw, positioning not too good and he already has a yellow. With Caicedo, I would imagine there will be an extra man to relieve the defensive pressure, carry the ball and he can retrieve the ball more aggressively than Ugo (who was on a yellow).

James our Captain showed his immaturity, he was about to pick up his first warning trying to pick a fight with Eddie Howe and some NC players and Silva had to pull him away. Kicking the ball away was a stupid reason for his first yellow and his second yellow was even more stupid. Cucu was also another stupid one for picking up a yellow for dissent when he should know how many yellows he had picked up from previous games and this one will cause him to be suspended for the next game. For his age and the number of times Silva saved us, he just had a very bad day at the office for his two miscue kicks.

We suddenly showed a class of pure immaturity and stupidity.

I guess it will be back to Gusto and Colwill for the RB and LB roles in the next game.

not only gk, defence as well, we conceded 4 goals with 2.3 xg..

silva should not be renew..

please play colwill and bad next game

I am one that hopes Silva renews but takes on a smaller, more like background mentor role for our young defenders or only out to close off games.
We already lack of leaders in the young team, we still need some mentors to guide the players.

something similar to Azpi @ AM, can also call-up when the game requires experience > youth
*
Yes. He may slowly lose his fitness but his EQ is still there. If he leaves, who is the most senior and matured (intellectually) player left? Our Captain Recce James who just displayed his immaturity?
I feel he has still a lot that he can teach our young CBs like Colwill, Disasi, Badiashile while teaching James a thing or two about being a leader and not letting your team down with a moment of madness.

Yes, yes. Silva let us down with his miscue but imagine if we canned Silva during his first game for us where he also miscued and let an opponent scored?

Speaking of discipline and maturity, Poch also needs to learn a thing or two since he also got suspended and wasn't allowed on the touchline.

I never said it was a pen. It was nice seeing someone else being called out, controversially.

I am just being petty and bored during UCL nights.
