When I designed my kitchen I had to let the ID meet with my wife and he basically said the same. I'm Married with kid already and whos in the kitchen most of the time?

Me 😂.

haha this is one of the things i prepped in my arsenal if my gf want to shoot me on the design. cause she never cooks.. or rarely

but yeah i agree that it looks dull and cold, but i feel its best for my cooking style/workflow since i usually cook chinese food and it is easier to clean + utilise

all the oil splatters + water splashes etc would be terrible on wood based cabinets. i know cause my parents kitchen atm is kinda nasty RN. look is one thing, cant get rid of the wet damp smell forever embedded zzz

Stainless steel will fade over time (I donno the exact word) and there will be scratches (look closely at your car). Plus if you drop something on it, there will be a dent. I don't suggest this.
*
Some sort of coating due to oxidation

That and scratch mark can easily remove by polishing

After that look like new

Also don't use mirror finish surface, that one is scratch mark magnet

The drop that dent stainless steel top will very likely to crack your quartz top

yeah this is expected cause the shiny polish will be gone and replaced with scratches. not a biggie IMO, i treat them as wear and tear feel

i dont mind those, but main concern OFC is rust as usual
sexay, but my concept was completely different  laugh.gif

something like this, this is why she said like commercial kitchen and a hard no

dry kitchen most likely settle with quartz since come together with the unit + plywood cabinets

just the wet kitchen part still unsure. otherwise i might just call in contractors to pour concrete top & bottom then tiled it up. but havent thought as far as what to fit in under as cabinets

if u plan to use for long term

table top - quartz (if u use marble sometime stains [like berak curry] once left over for long time ..it will makan masuk then u farked)
then cabinet if you got budget then go for solid wood
if u want to cheap out then can go for Alu 1 ..actually quite ok also

Hahaha restaurants use stainless steel bro. It's cheap and easy to replace. Not the best for home kitchen.

depends what you are using for home kitchen
if home kitchen kejap kejap sentuh and for look nice then get expensive or whatever makes you think they last just as long.
commercial kitchen easy for replacement because due to high and heavy use.

Quartz la. Cheap. Easier maintenance. But stain will still appear la. Use light color so it looked airy. Dark color big no.

My parents house using full Cengal wood, cost them 40K in the 80s..

Sink area need cement and tiles. Wood cannot last there.

Nowadays got alternative materials other than wood like aluminium and panels.

Quartz is one of the more resistant to stain as compare to marble.
And it is more into budget friendly compare to natural stones

I cook a lot and know a lot about stain.

Even quartz can't tahan Malaysian food stain. Like Kunyit, Cili oil, coffee. But quartz can be wipe away easily even it is stained

Marble or granite, good luck. They are very delicate need heavy maintanance.

Like here ppl say, go for aluminium frame, and bare minimal plywood. My house currently use MDF , regret to the max. Should have gonfor alu or plywood
*
Well fuck. I'm using both granite and MDF lol

But my renovator told me granite is much more durable than quartz stone? Blimey the cost of granite is almost twice or quartz as well
