QUOTE(Quang1819 @ Jul 20 2023, 01:24 PM) Well fuck. I'm using both granite and MDF lol But my renovator told me granite is much more durable than quartz stone? Blimey the cost of granite is almost twice or quartz as well Hahaha MDF and kitchen doesn't blend well.

My advise, don’t go for cheap quartz. They are rubbish. Not maintenance free like quartz is supposed to be. If you want to use quartz go for branded ones where they advertises the composition of the quartz.

If you have a dry kitchen where it is away from the oil and water, WOOD countertop will be good.
Wood gives a warm feeling.
The part near to water and oil and the kitchen, choose a material that is non-porous.
Tiles is hard wearing but have grout lines that can trap dirt and looks dirty over time.
Stainless steel can attract scratches and dents over time. Wood also can get scratches and chips over time.

Cement top no need special care wan if scratch just ask cement guy come touch up or just leave it. But must ask them polish and put sealant la. This mine got scratches and natural stain but looks nicer imo. This post has been edited by NathanJeans: Jul 20 2023, 03:48 PM

Nothing is impervious. even if it is, mainly there is a layer/coating act as sealant and exposing to rapid temp. break its bonds. For now go for quartz for top (higher grade / known brand yea. Not cheapo one), solid wood for base. or tiled concrete (the old ways. tile big big lor if want less grout connection 2x2' is sweet spot)
I see a recent trend where sintered stone is used as counter top. Still new i think, not sure how well it lasts. Two of the client has this insists & applied recent years so have to wait and see when she will comeback to me & meroyan about it.

Who will use the kitchen ? Your maid ?
If yes just use 2x2 tiles for table top.
If u use yourself the. Proceed with quartz top, melamine body, spray paint for the door.
