Yes, worth going to HK even if you don't like shopping.

I'm not a shopping person, shopping was not included in my 9D/8N's trip itinerary. Only dropped by Citygate Mall for dinner and jalan jalan (and didn't buy anything) on the way back from Big Buddha. And bought a pair of Raebok at the warehouse sale, well, the place was next to Avenue of Star..

So many places to visit in HK, if I go again, I can still plan an itinerary to go to places that I've not yet been to.

Besides, the food, esp dim sum is good and the wanton mee - super big wanton.

Hi, is it good for someone who doesn't go shopping to go HK?
And I went to Tokyo's disneyland...

Is it worth going? Or other places better?

After travelling HK for the first time, I have only this to say, "THE PEOPLE ARE F.....ING RUDE".  I mean I have never encountered people with such attitude.  Of course, to say everyone is rude, is not fair but "THE MAJORITY" are like that.  Maybe their schools never teach them.  Of course, we do find rude people in every country...but..in HK it's an exceptional lot.  They just don't give a DAMN.  Another thing, STAY AWAY FROM THIS "LIN HEUNG" restaurant.  They are not only rude, the food sucks.

lol luckily you din visit HK few years back then

HK ppl improved so damed much now compare to my last visit which is 8 years back

last time when visit, when go in restaurant, ask what good to eat, they will shout and say "see yourself la, dont knw how to read ar?", and when you bargain for price, they will either dont bother to talk to you anymore

now they really improve alot liao

and another thing is, those salesgirl/man at branded shop are far more friendly than those in KLCC/pavillion one, lol

I went to Tokyo Disneyland and HK's just recently. HK's Disney has a lot less to see honestly. It doesn't give you the, OMG, WTH, and there's no OMMPH compared to Tokyo's if you know what i mean. But anyhow, its disneyland you see, no matter how less interesting it may be, you just got to put your feet there and say 'I have been to HK Disneyland'

I agree, at least can say that "I've been to HK Disneyland". But if only going to HK for very short stay, eg 3 days, then if don't like ma don't go lor..

HK Disneyland, being "small", also good lar, one day can finish all - the rides and the shows. Been there, done that, next time don't go liao.

Another good thing about HK Disneyland is, at least it is quite affordable (other Disneyland more expensive ah). The food prices also ok lah..

HK sales are at august and december

at OCT it will start to slowly turn colder than malaysia

i just back from HK 2 days ago, and its still as hot as in malaysia

btw, if you go at OCT, there will be more towards winter clothing

I checked at Dragon Hostel where I stayed before. They provide Visa application service. For China Visa, single entry, same day collection (submit before 8.30am, collect at 2pm, or submit before 12 noon, collect at 7pm) the fee is HKD330. For next day collection (submit before 12noon, collect next day 1pm, or submit after 12 noon, collect next day 7pm), the fee is HKD280. Just need a passport size photo, and passport with at least 6 months validity.

This is definately NOT CHEAP. Better apply here in M'sia. I'm not from KL, so I applied thru travel agent from home, cost me RM$50.

If confirm going, get the Visa from M'sia.

If not sure going or not, also can get the Visa first, is valid for 3 months until you utilised the single entry. After 3 months if you never go to China at all, then consider wasted lor...

QUOTE(northasian @ Sep 10 2009, 04:13 PM)
1. The Peak (i.e. Victoria Peak)
2. Victoria Habourfront (i.e. Tsim Sha Tsui's Star Avenue)
3. Mong Kok (e.g. Ladies Street, but it's quite like Petaling street, can walk around Fa Yuen Street & Sai Yeung Choi Street & Langham Place )
4. Giant Buddha on Lantau Island (can visit Tung Chung Citygate Outlet Mall as well)
5. Ocean Park
6. Disneyland, if you fancy their characters or has not been to any Disneyland out of HK
7. Central, to view some famous skyscrappers of HK
8. Repulse Bay + Stanley (luxury housing & beach in Repulse Bay, flea market in Stanley)
Yes, should spare 1 day for Disneyland especially on weekends & public holidays. But I heard some people can finish it within half day, so it depends on the crowd on the day you visit.

Ocean Park is way better and more worth 'coz it's bigger and with more thrill rides! But their entrance fee will be raised after 8 Oct 2009, from HKD208 raise to HKD250 per adult.
DEC is winter sale, items might not be suitable for M'sian summer weather. So if you're targetting on fashion items, you may be disappointed la...
