QUOTE(evoHahn @ Nov 15 2007, 12:22 AM) QUOTE(evoHahn @ Nov 15 2007, 11:19 AM) LOL... i'm not old as Mika, but i'm one day older than Nick Heidfeld obviously benetton was not a MINARDI right? if a no hope car was given to them you think he can pull off those wins? and 1 more thing is that Senna died okay 1994, this the first season changing tyres and refuelling in the pits during pitstop was introduced (this info is according to BBC's 1994 season review video that i have ). Before this, F1 drivers will continously race for 1 - 2 hours straight without stopping. They only pit in if their car suffered any damage. That year, 94 (and a year before that), Williams has the best and fastest car in F1 (thats why Senna moved there from McLaren). Benetton at that time was not the fastest car. And during this year, the art of pit strategy was introduced by Benetton - Brawn the strategist and Schumi drove superbly. The next year they done the same again- so Schumi - Brawn partnership was born at Benetton. In 96, Schumi moved to Ferrari and Brawn followed a year later. |

QUOTE(Darkmage12 @ Nov 16 2007, 04:25 PM) obviously benetton was not a MINARDI right? if a no hope car was given to them you think he can pull off those wins? and 1 more thing is that Senna died bennetton then was more like Sauber this year. Later Renault bought the team.lets see Constructors' Championship in the 90s... 1990 - McLaren 1991 - McLaren 1992 - Williams 1993 - Williams 1994 - Williams 1995 - Benetton 1996 - Williams 1997 - Williams 1998 - McLaren 1999 - Ferrari Still, in 94 when Senna died, Williams still won the Constructors Championship. Honda can win races, they have done it before in Hungary '06. Yes this years' honda aero package is a mess; The team admitted it - look how Super Arguri perform this year using last years' Honda car. If the team can pull it off next year, under Brawn guidance, i believe they can give a suprise or two Minardi-like team winning races? There have been a few cases here and there in F1. Have to re-read my books Added on November 17, 2007, 4:29 am QUOTE(Aeon_Clock @ Nov 16 2007, 12:18 PM) Added on November 16, 2007, 12:20 pm I meant it as a sarcasm...not playing with your age age doesn't really matter in this case, but its when you started watching the sport I think. Lost interest in the sport after senna's untimely death and prost's departure. Always thought that after that it was a one horse race with schumi, despite coulthard and hakinnen's best efforts.
Hamilton was/is interesting but the court fiascos these year have been a real turnoff... and the latest ruling confirms it all, F1 is a bloody farce. Give me two seater salon car racing anyday!!! |

QUOTE(bluswhitehat @ Nov 16 2007, 11:25 PM) no.. F1 will kill A1.. McLaren appeal verdict confirmed. McLaren appeal fails; Kimi Raikkonen keeps title. he FIA's International Court of Appeal has rejected McLaren's appeal against the decision not to disqualify the BMW-Sauber and Williams' cars from last month's Brazilian Grand Prix. The decision means that Kimi Raikkonen has won the 2007 Formula 1 drivers' title, as Lewis Hamilton remains seventh overall in the Brazilian GP race classification and does not move up to gain the additional points needed to overhaul him. A statement released by the FIA late on Thursday said that the appeal lodged by McLaren was 'inadmissible'. The full release from the FIA read: "The FIA International Court of Appeal met in London on Thursday, November 15, 2007, to examine an appeal lodged by the Motor Sports Association (MSA) on behalf of its licence-holder Vodafone McLaren Mercedes against the decision (document 41) of the Panel of the Stewards of the 2007 Brazilian Grand Prix dated 21 October 2007 and counting towards the 2007 FIA Formula One World Championship. "Following a report from the Technical Delegate indicating that the temperature of fuel pumped into the cars #9 - Nick Heidfeld, #10 - Robert Kubica, #16 - Nico Rosberg and #17 - Kazuki Nakajima, was more than 10 degrees centigrade below ambient temperature, the Stewards of the Meeting met to consider whether a penalty should be imposed. "Having heard the evidence they decided not to impose a penalty as they had sufficient doubt as to both the temperature of the fuel on board the car and to the true ambient temperature. "Having heard the explanations of both parties and having examined the various documents and other evidence, the Court decided that the appeal lodged by Vodaphone McLaren Mercedes is inadmissible. "The International Court of Appeal was presided over by Mr Jan Stovicek (Czech Republic), elected President, and composed of Mr John Cassidy (United States), Mr Vassilis Koussis (Greece) and Mr Jos Macedo e Cunha (Portugal)." QUOTE(faris21 @ Nov 17 2007, 07:21 PM) Hammy never drive F1 car without TC,lets see what he can do at Melbourne next year,he really need do a lot of practice next month winter testing gp2 cars are without TC rite, please correct me if i'm wrong. so if hamilton drove during gp2 without TC, IMO he can still perform well only difference are technical and handling of the car. |
