regarding speed, from the hobs i tested FOTILE EIG76203 is the fastest in boiling speed.

Tested to boil one cup of water with EIG76203
1) Max Heat : 1 min 30 sec
2) With Booster mode : 1 min

Ceramic Hob : 4min 30 sec
Gas hob 5kW : 1min 40 sec

Another cleanliness aspect, many gas tanks are oily and dirty which will attract pests.
Unless we want to clean the gas tank every time it is delivered to us....

Anyway, I support Ceramic/Induction hob.
Using it heavily at home now.

Induction need specialized cookware:

1) must be made of magnetic material (cast iron, magnetic stainless steel) or have a magnetic flat bottom (cookware that come with induction-compatible bottom, like this: https://www.lagourmet.com.my/product/shogun...frypan-with-ih/ )
2) must have flat bottom

If your pot/pans cannot be magnetized (aluminum, ceramic, stoneware, glass, copper, nonmagnetic stainless steel etc.), then can only use on ceramic hob.

Ceramic also need flat bottom.

Since ceramic hob can support all types of pan, why don't just buy ceramic hob? What is disadvantage of ceramic compared to induction?

ceramic hob when you need to boil soup for long time, use induction when you need to stir fry or need high heat immediately

think of it this way, induction is like gas stove, ceramic hob is like slow cooker

but of course you can use ceramic hob for normal cooking, but it will just take longer time to heat up and change of heat level is slower than induction

you can use induction for long hour cooking also, just make sure there is adequate cooling / airflow for it

Edited: instead of saying ceramic hob is like a slow cooker, maybe charcoal stove is more appropriate

There is a YouTube cooking channel (westerner), he changed from non-gas hob to gas hob. Just saying.

I use gas hob and another single zone induction cooker for boiling (good for steamboat and soup).

Gas hob is just more versatile, fit all cookware, wok and flat bottom. Better nuance control of heat level.

In my opinion, if you are serious in cooking then get a gas hob.

Hi,

Where did you place your gas tank? Is it ok to place it beside the hob, either in the cabinet or openly outside?
I plan to place it as in the picture below

I put my gas tank under the gas hob.

You can put anywhere you like as long as the gas hose is not near the fire and obstructed.

Do remember to check the gas hose at least once per year.

1. If you plan to cook heavily nearly everyday, then better to use gas.
2. What do you normally cook? If you mostly cook Asian food, then better to use gas.

Anything else, and I reckon it's better to use some form of electric stove for the convenience and safety. I use induction by the way.

1) if it's flat bottomed, most stainless steel wok okay PROVIDED THAT ENOUGH MAGNETIC MATERIAL. Example: some high-nickel content stainless steel cookware is not compatible because too much nickel blocks magnetic field.

2) need to look at your specific brand's warranty. Some only cover very limited, example Fujioh's warranty as follows, only cover toughened glass and only ONE TIME replacement:

QUOTE
Lifetime warranty against toughened glass shatter for toughened glass hob only. Shattered glass will only be replaced 1 time only, subject to the appliance are safe to use. Service, transport and any parts changed are chargeable if exceed warranty period.

Can I know how you guys connect the induction hob to the power socket?

What ampere socket are you all using?

I was informed we can use the round pin socket (15A).

I am having the Fotile EIG76203 model.
