I have the 848 Superbike, I've had it about a year. In terms of general maintenance, it actually hasn't cost me all that much. But I haven't really ridden it much over the last year (I'm in and out of the country a lot), the bike just had its 12000KM service a couple weeks ago (Bike needs servicing every 12k KM IIRC). Cost me about 8XX all in, but I had a couple of extras included in that bill so maybe, 7XX? That included checking the valves etc as well. It's not expensive provided nothing needs to be replaced. Then it could've gotten nasty.

Most common parts are generally pretty easy to find. I wouldn't say I've had to wait 3 weeks for anything, but then nothing has really been wrong with my bike, except a small nagging immobilizer issue that comes up now and again (we're working on a fix for that).

Tyres, for a set of pirelli supercorsa SC2's for my bike for example would be about RM1450 fitted (that's the best I've seen so if anyone has any other places to go please do share). This is for a 180 section rear tyre. The 190's that are used on the 1098/1198 are a bit more at RM1500 I think last time I checked.

My advice for anyone with Ducati buying intentions is make sure you follow the service manual and service interval schedule, even if the bike is running well. Otherwise things break, then your wallet will cry

hey guys, I just got my 2009 Yamaha R1 today, have to tell you that the power is amazing, very responsive, it is something completely different compared to my previous ER6N.

The R1 is very difficult to handle, I have close calls todays on my way back home, went in the corner and hit brake , rear tire skid a bit but phew....

I think R1 is too much for me  , I though I can plant my knee down on ER6 and ready to jump on 1000cc, seems like it is too early! wish I could tame that beast.

no, previously I booked for a special edition black color one with TBR, but at the end I changed my mind, I get the stock one instead, I just wanna go thru all break-in process, stock cans sound pretty good, I'll stay with stock cans for a while.

Now the ODO indicates 180KM only, I ride like a puuusssy below 7K rpm, 6th gear with 7K rpm already hit 160kmh plus lol, later I'll have my first oil change then I'll try a higher rpm.

Don't know which one is right and which one is wrong, some people said you can drive it like you stole it in the beginning, and some said you have to baby the engine for 1000km, driving below 7000rpm which is totally sux!

Still need a lot of practice, I feel it is too heavy to corner, try to plan my knee down at around 100kmh in a corner and still feel scare

btw the undertail exhaust is hot! I mean the heat, it burn my assss , seat gettin hot, and it also burn my left foot. maybe I should wear leather lolz.

Wahhh cool bike man! it's still a rare sight to see MadAss around the city...

they told me if I put full system, warranty will be voided. , the 2009 has some known problems, cam chain tensioner, rectifier, bad relay, and clutch, I'm waiting that to happen so I can claim lol.
