my god, is it a full system? because I can see the exhaust manifold is not the stock one, how much $ and do your right ear ringing now? haha...
*
Yes it is. Was quoted RM7.5K when I gave the part number to the workshop to source it for me. Initially, I wanted a dual can setup - more street style look with black cans to match the aesthetics of the bike base colour which is black. Besides, the other 3 budding Z1 owners I hang out with are on dual titanium can setup. Since I am the last to replace the stock cans, I just wanted to try something different. Took them 1 day to source it for me and they replied that only a single can setup is available and if I insist for a dual can system, order has to be placed with an unknown lead time. Since the header between the single and dual can setup is the same, I just went with it.

My initial thoughts after installing the single can setup - idling sound is nothing to shout about. Very very low throaty sound - similar with stock cans. The Arrow's Works dual can and Pro Racing pipe sound much bassier on idle. But when on throttle, the cans emits a screaming growl - but not to the extent of causing ringing or buzzing on the right ears. On cruise, I could hear a light burble sound from the cans which we believe it is the design of the collectors of the header. Whatever it is, I like the growl and could live with the sound.

You will be surprised if I would to tell you how long I stayed in the States in my life - 2 weeks. Yeap! 2 weeks in San Jose for work & attending a beta training. I am just an average joe la. I am sure if I would to tell you that I got Sijil Anak Pandai for my SPM, you would not even believe it.

The all new 2012 ZX14 - monster super sports tourer. I like! After setting my eyes on the ZX14, first thing I did was to put in the order for the stock ZX14 embossed tank pads. Kinda like it - but that tank pad has yet to be listed on the orderable parts list. So I gotta wait till whenever it appears on the list...http://static.lowyat.net/style_images/1/folder_post_icons/icon6.gif

Many and most people tend to disagree with going with a bigger CC bikes in view of riding experience. Like it has been discussed before and my point of view is - buy the bike you REALLY want. How you speed, handle and thrash the bike is based on your own discipline. If you cannot discipline yourself with the throttle, given any bike to you also useless.

I am considering if I should go for the 2012 CBR1000.

Since there is already 2 super rempitz on 2011 ZX10s among our group, I want to try something other than Kawa to break the tradition. I was left to eat dust where I maxed out at 250km/h on my naked.

Anyone has any leads with solid and accurate info (availability & price) for the following bikes:

1. 2012 Honda CBR1000rr
2. 2012 Yamaha YZF-R1
3. 2012 Suzuki GSXR1000

Hahahaha! I knew this was coming.

Let me put it this way - thoughts go wild and it is always nice to look at other people's stunning girlfriends. But you know very well that you would not want HER to be your wife.

I reserve to comment further on the S1000RR, nevertheless it is not a bike I want.

hi, since you already rode z750 and now z1000, they both using traditional inline-four engine, getting CBR or ZX10 just another inline-four with greater engine response and power, maybe you should get something different, get the R1 with crossplane crankshaft and traction control, you going to like it...

The inline-four crossplane sounds like V8 muscle car, power respond and engine vibration feel totally different to traditional inline-four.

If you haven't been on one before, maybe we can meet up and swap with your Z... R1 has no problem hitting 300kmh lol. but mine didn't have 7 level traction control one haha....

T600 - Am waiting for the right moment as there is already a 2010 R1 offered for test ride. You will definitely drool if u see the bike. Thanks for the offer though - 1 teh O ais limau for you for being such a good sport!

Realize lots of R1 riders are selling their bikes for the 2012 model.

Personally, i still prefer a inline4 over v-twin due to my riding style and application. Please dont get me wrong and it is not to offend v-twiner fans. Comparable with my Z1, i rode a 990SMR. Love the adrenaline rush when I punch the gas. Lighter chassis coupled with nimble handling makes it a very hooligan bike to ride.

At the moment, traditional inline4 bikes suits me well. Hence, my next bike would also be a Jap inline4. Comparing the 3 I have listed, Suzy seems to be a better choice.

I think it should be US38/EU48. Anyway, it would not fit T600. I am guessing he would need EU42 or 44.

T600, go alpinestars and dainese to try their sizes and fit. That would give you a better insight on your leather wear.

I notice that size EU48 for RS taichi is totally different from Alpinestars and Dainese. Best is not to trust measurements as it is very hard to gauge. It is a one off investment, so better decide and buy them as accurate as possible.

QUOTE(T600 @ Jan 4 2012, 01:07 PM)
before the clutch complete pressed, louder poping occured...
*
Before - with stock cans and Y-pipe (de-cat) and no PCV, back firings sounds like a measly 9mm handgun. Back firings can be heard at every throttle shut.
Current - complete exhaust kit with headers, PCV and single aluminium can, back firings is like a cannon. Faded back firings like crackling firecrackers can be heard at low rpm when throttle shut.

Amongst the Z1s - the backfirings are quite common due to the timing of the throttle bodies shuts the air flow. Understand that there are 2 throttle bodies, wrist and ECU controlled. So far, we have seen 2 Z1s without backfiring after getting both their throttle bodies calibrated.

Personally, I like the backfirings - especially during lane split where I have to turn on and off the throttle repeatedly. Everytime I shut the throttle, I will just inch the throttle back on to hear a louder backfiring. Muahahahah!

Oo... ic...

But the sound gooding ? Can beat inline 4 ?
*
IMHO, sounds like a sewing machine in stock form. Even with slip-ons, sounds still odd - its a 3 cycl character I believe.

A friend showed me an article of various 600 supersports tested on track (non local), CBR600, ZX6, Daytona 675, R6 & GSXR600. Results of track time & sector time very tight as in all time clocked are neck to neck. Difference are just down to milliseconds.

Am sure can beat inline4...

Just be cautious when you are dealing with "in-shop" loans. It is either they are doing it from finance companies, or through independent financiers. If you are going to do it via independent financiers, I strongly urge you to take a personal loan from established banks/financial institutions.

monaz has shared good insight on the procedures and what to expect for bring back vehicles from abroad.

Those that I know that brought their vehicles back strongly believes there is a sentimental bond between them and the machines. Some just brings it back for profitable gains.

Anyone residing in Japan? Need help to source for apparels.

Hodaka Motoworld, PJCC. They have quite a good range of RS Taichi and Komine apparels. Their price is quite competitive as well.

No wonder that B-King look so familiar. If I recall correctly, that bike owner is somewhat affiliated with distribution of Perodua cars. If it is, I bumped to him and his bike at Avenue Car Care.

fast bike is nice... but when ur involved in an accident nothing is nice.. im pretty sure of it as I just had an accident.. damn car driver
*
Totally agree with you on all points. But on the point of car driver - in the world we ride our bikes, there are very little compassion shown to us on 2 wheels. Irregardless if you ride a puny 100cc or the monstrous 1199s - we are always at the losing end. I had my share about 3 weeks back due to a vehicle changing lane. Nothing major, just a broken collar bone and bruising at my right hip. Bike suffered cosmetic scratches and its on the way getting pretty again.

I am starting to wonder if Malaysian drivers are really that scared to face reality. It happened to myself, my riding buddy and you! Drivers all fled the scene!

Thumbs up for the riders being properly geared even just riding a moped. I really appreciate it when see riders properly geared, regardless what kind of motorcycle they ride.
