yes, and pathgreen mentioned the battery system could cost 35k , maybe not so feasible for now and for residential.

ok, doesn't sound that attractive if no NEM

Hi guys ,
Im dilemma of this three solar panel choice .

Alpha - 12.6kwh rm38k ( string inverter )
Solanatec - 13.6kwh rm42k ( string inverter )
Pathgreen - 13kwh rm46k ( micro inverter )

Or got any recommendation other than this three company .

For home use . Monthly bill around 700-900 .
Updated 12 june 23 : Thanks bee88 for guidance , now im going for micro inverters from GeenPath . Ill update this thread for results after the installation and so on .
Updated 8th October 23 :

Installation already completed on september 7th . Now is already 1 month after the solar installation .

30 days solar generated = 1440kwh .

My electric bill from RM650 drop to RM25 only .

During this 30 days of testing , i actually increase my electricity usage . I start to turn on my living room aircon 3-5 hours daily .
Pros of installing solar panel :
1) TNB electricity bill is subsidized and have tiers , it is cheaper for the first 300 kwh , and after 300kwh is about RM0.5 per kwh .

With solar , total kwh of the month will minus total solar generated , then only they will calculate according to the tier and bill you . In other words , the solar generated electricity will cover the most expensive tier for you .
2) With the new ICPT implementation,  if your electricity monthly usage is above 1500kwh , you will be charged about rm150 extra monthly .

But with solar system , it is almost impossible to reach 1500kwh . As during day time when the solar is generating electricity, it will actually supply to your home electricity before sending the surplus back to the grid .

Example :
Monthly usage 1600kwh , solar generated 1500kwh  .

But the meter will show 900kwh , solar generated 800kwh .

Coz the 700kwh is tallies during the day use .
3) You can have the freeeom to utilize air conditioner during hot days . Cause you will know that if it is a hot day , your solar will generate alot of electricity that day . This is a very good balance of temperature in your house , though not very environmentally friendly 😀
Why choose Pathgreen Sdn bhd ( non paid advertisement )

1) They offer micro-inverter at string-inverter price .

2) The price they propose is available for installment for up to 60 months .

3) They offer risk-shared plan after 5 years , which is not many solar company will offer . Quote from them " they are confident that their solar system will still perform well even after 5 years , hence they willing to share risk with buyer , they will charge 10% of your total solar generated every month and will cover every maintenance and repair work if needed "

*If i encounter any problem in the future ill also update on this thread . *

Hi, any updates after 1 year+?
Maintenance? Degradation?
Total generated a year?

Your results are impressive—dropping your bill from RM650 to just RM25 is a huge saving, especially considering you even increased your electricity usage. It seems like micro inverters were definitely the way to go for maximizing efficiency and cost savings. If anyone else is deciding between string and micro inverters, your experience is a strong endorsement for micro inverters, especially from GeenPath.

Dropping from RM650 to RM25 while increasing usage is no small feat. Your experience makes a strong case for using micro inverters. I'm considering solar myself, so your story is really inspiring.

I recently read an interesting article about the world’s #1 solar generator review site. The site provides in-depth reviews and comparisons of various solar generators, which is quite helpful for anyone looking to invest in solar energy solutions. The detailed analysis and user feedback can be really valuable when deciding on the best solar options. This reminded me of how thorough research and user reviews, like your own, can guide others in making informed decisions. For anyone exploring solar options, checking out resources like https://solargenerators.to/ might offer additional insights and help make a well-informed choice.

On normal months, I wouldn't even hit 1400kw but since got visitors for 3 weeks, it got past 1500 and 1600 for 2 months.
Yes, daytime the solar energy will offset TNB electric but no solar energy at night then solely used TNB and that's where the issue is.

The surplus solar electric will offset the total bill but after they calculate the ICPT charges, either negative or positive figures.

Did I understand your situation correctly?

eg. Your solar generates 1800kwh.

Your power consumption is 1501kwh. Just because of the 2kwh --- you get fine rm150?

that is wtf....
