The Ukrainian 110th Mechanized Brigade put some footage together of a recent Russian attack towards Adiivka.

The attack went extremely poorly, with the Russian force driving into a dialed in and drone spotted Ukrainian free-fire zone.

The group can be seen driving through the remains of another crushed company level Russian assault (at least company level losses), with at least 5x destroyed BMPs, 4x BTRs, and 2x T-72s.

Russian assault battalion commander was reportedly killed in Avdiivka on 21 October. The note about this appeared on the Russian VK social network. It is unclear how he died but he was the son of a Russian officer who went through Afghanistan, so the loss is significant, given his position as the battalion commander.

Russian government spending is becoming increasingly focused on the costs of its war on Ukraine. The state’s proposed 2024 budget envisages an approximate 68% increase in planned defence spending compared to that allotted for 2023 – this puts defence spending for 2024 at around 6% of GDP.
