his last line is "we are doing the same" 😂😂😂😂😂
actually while he may not know, this level of connectivity is almost on every platoon level and that tablet can also call for fire support. how demotivating must be for him to feel that the enemy has eyes and intel in real time. QUOTE(MilitaryMadness @ Jul 15 2023, 09:59 PM) |

This is a BARS unit, which is composed of volunteers from the Russian Armed Forces reserves. They seem to be well dug in and their trenches have overhead cover for protection from artillery and drone attacks.
Very interesting and a real eye-opener Additional info: The “BARS” (Boevoy Armeyskiy Rezerv Strany- Special Combat Army Reserve) program is part of the Russian Military’s army reserves. Those who sign contracts under the program receive a permanent cash security while maintaining a job and average earnings. During the year, reservists can be called to meetings (up to 1 month), where they can be involved in training and other tasks. The monthly salary under the contract reaches 12% of the salary of servicemen (depending on the rank and position). The total number of people who signed BARS contracts is about 100,000. igor girkin, MH17 killer, on one of his rants again.
TLDR first part: - Ukraine forces change tactics to smaller assault groups. - strong Ukraine counter batteries fire. second part: - Ukraine forces are able to rotate and rest. - Russian forces maintain the same without rest. - General Popov echoes the same problem. - Russian forces unable to bring reserve or fully trained? third part: - Russian forces at frontline, units are 70% less capacity and even lesser in fierce area. - Russian forces taking losses byt reinforcements from rear are slowed. - no defense line will stop the Ukrainians if they are not defended by proper troops. part four: - General Gerasimov does not have reserve troops to commit. - transferring from another sector will weakened that sector. 3/ The regiment is currently fighting in the Zaporizhzhia region. The prison facility is much further east, in the occupied Luhansk region. There were several reports last year of Russian soldiers being detained there. ASTRA reports that it's still in use. 4/ According to Ignatov, after being detained he was "attached to the 57th brigade ... I don't know whether I am listed in this brigade or not. I don't know the documents there either." He says the brigade is for "undesirables". 5/ The brigade has been in the news before; it was reported last winter that it comprised a mixture of soldiers who had become 'refuseniks' and mercenaries from the Wagner Group, who presumably kept the refuseniks in line. 6/ As ASTRA reports, Ignatov says that he was "mobilised back in the autumn of 2022 and has never received leave since then. He also said that the command treats him and other servicemen "like dogs"." 7/ Ignatov's mother has appealed for assistance on behalf of her son to the military prosecutor's office, which as usual has turned down the appeal with the response that no violations have been found. 8/ She says that "while he was in the so-called basement, he received threats that they would deal with his family, staged a mock execution, morally pressurised and humiliated him. 9/ "In January he was sent to the military medical commission in Simferopol, where the commission revealed two intervertebral herniated discs, myopia, osteochondrosis, but he was still assigned category A - "Ready"." 10/ Being assigned an exaggerated level of fitness is reportedly commonplace in the Russian army, where doctors are under pressure to send even obviously wounded and unfit men back to the front lines. /end |

Update on the conflict in Ukraine for July 17, 2023: - Western analysts are claiming the recent alleged resignation of Russian General Popov reflects Ukrainian artillery superiority amid the ongoing counteroffensive despite the fact that Ukraine is admittedly losing more armor and troops and has failed to make any substantial progress in over a month and a half of intense fighting; 😆 - Western analysts admit Russia outguns Ukraine both in terms of artillery pieces and artillery ammunition but claims Ukraine has the “edge” because of its “artillery kill chain” which includes drones and counter-battery radars, technology Russia also has but in greater abundance; 😗 - The US is allegedly buying Hawk air defense missiles decommissioned this year by Taiwan. The Hawk air defense systems was developed during the 1960’s and the version Taiwan has on hand was upgrade in the 1980s; 😵 - The Hawk missiles serve as a very limited replacement for medium range air defense systems like Ukraine’s Soviet-era Buk systems and will not enable Ukraine to defend against Russian glide bombs along the line of contact; - Before these Hawk missiles reach Ukraine, they will require refurbishment, a time-consuming process limited by a lack of facilities and qualified human resources. Similar limitations are inhibiting further production of newer weapon systems like the man-portable Stinger anti-aircraft missile; - In the wake of Germany’s Leopard 2 main battle tanks failing on the battlefield, an even smaller number of US M1 Abrams are being touted as the next great hope for Ukrainian forces; 🧐 - In another Washington Post interview with Ukrainian commander General Valery Zaluzhny, he admits that Ukraine doesn't have the necessary material means to succeed on the battlefield; |

The publication claims that in the first two weeks of the counteroffensive, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost up to 20% of the military equipment deployed to the front. Already in the following weeks, this indicator decreased to 10% thanks to a new tactic - to wear out Russian artillery and strike Russian bases with long-range missiles, instead of the former constant assaults.
But this tactic caused the offensive to slow down. Even if you look at the latest military aid being negotiated, it's just the artillery shells and long-range missiles that are needed to support the new tactics. |
