Full text of President Vladimir Putin's address to the citizens of Russia:
I appeal to the citizens of Russia, to the personnel of the Armed Forces, law enforcement agencies and special services, to the fighters and commanders who are now fighting in their combat positions, repulsing enemy attacks, doing it heroically. I also appeal to those who were drawn into a criminal adventure by deceit or threats, who were pushed onto the path of a serious crime - an armed rebellion. Today Russia is waging a hard struggle for its future, repelling the aggression of neo-Nazis and their masters. Virtually the entire military, economic and information machine of the West is directed against us. We are fighting for the life and safety of our people, for our sovereignty and independence. For the right to be and remain Russia, a state with a thousand-year history. This battle, when the fate of our people is being decided, requires the unification of all forces, unity, consolidation and responsibility. When everything that weakens us must be thrown aside, any strife that our external enemies can and use to undermine us from within. And therefore, actions that split our unity are, in fact, apostasy from one's own people, from comrades-in-arms who are now fighting at the front. This is a stab in the back to our country and our people. It was such a blow that was dealt to Russia in 1917, when the country was waging the First World War. But the victory was stolen from her. Intrigues, squabbles, politicking behind the backs of the army and the people turned into the greatest shock, the destruction of the army and the collapse of the state, the loss of vast territories. As a result, the tragedy of the civil war. Russians killed Russians, brothers - brothers, and all sorts of political adventurers and foreign forces, who divided the country, tore it into pieces, gained selfish profit. We won't let this happen again. We will protect both our people and our statehood from any threats. Including - from internal betrayal. And what we are faced with is betrayal. Exorbitant ambitions and personal interests led to treason. To betray our country, our people, and the cause for which, side by side with our other units and subunits, the soldiers and commanders of the Wagner group fought and died. The heroes who liberated Soledar and Artyomovsk, the cities and towns of Donbass, fought and gave their lives for Novorossia, for the unity of the Russian world. Their name and glory were also betrayed by those who are trying to organize a rebellion, pushing the country towards anarchy and fratricide. To defeat, in the end, and surrender. I repeat, any internal turmoil is a deadly threat to our statehood, to us as a nation. This is a blow to Russia, to our people. And our actions to protect the Fatherland from such a threat will be tough. All those who deliberately embarked on the path of betrayal, who prepared an armed rebellion, embarked on the path of blackmail and terrorist methods, will suffer inevitable punishment , will answer both before the law and before our people. The Armed Forces and other government agencies have received the necessary orders, and additional anti-terrorist measures are now being introduced in Moscow, the Moscow Region and a number of other regions . Resolute actions will also be taken to stabilize the situation in Rostov-on-Don. It remains difficult ; in fact, the work of civil and military authorities is blocked. As the President of Russia and Supreme Commander-in-Chief, as a citizen of Russia, I will do everything to defend the country, to protect the constitutional order, the lives, security and freedom of citizens. The one who organized and prepared the military rebellion, who raised arms against his comrades-in-arms, betrayed Russia. And they will answer for it. And I urge those who are being dragged into this crime not to make a fatal and tragic, unique mistake, to make the only right choice - to stop participating in criminal acts. I believe that we will preserve and defend what is dear and sacred to us, and together with our Motherland we will overcome any trials, we will become even stronger. Update on the conflict in Ukraine for June 25, 2023: - Ukraine’s offensive enters its 4th week with the line of contact relatively unchanged and having suffered immense losses; - Western governments and commentators have been increasingly calling for more “wonder weapons” and even Western military intervention as prospects dim for Ukraine; - The Wagner mutiny in Rostov, southern Russia was an ill-conceived gamble by Wagner’s figurehead Yevgeny Prigozhin; - The crisis resolved itself within 24 hours with Prigozhin’s exile to Belarus and Wagner forces being fully integrated into the Russian military; - Ukraine’s offensive potential persists, however, amid a war of attrition, territorial gains at the cost of men and machines brings Ukraine closer to defeat, not victory; This post has been edited by Catnip: Jun 25 2023, 08:18 PM |

From my point of view, he will receive remarks from the population that he has spared suffering, especially for civilians. Solving a mutiny through negotiation is the best solution for everyone. His closest circle will once again realize the rationality of his actions, which will certainly help. I doubt whether Putin will let Prigozhin dictate who heads his defense ministry. Which CEO lets an external service provider dictate who may be his purchasing manager - that would be a big sign of weakness. I assume that everything will remain the same in terms of personnel, otherwise he will lose prestige. In the external effect towards the West, even his biggest enemies will realize that not even the best mercenary group in the world can stand against him, including a "charismatic" and through his successes also popular man in Russia. There were victims among the Russian soldiers, Prigozhin wants to settle the debt with money, regardless of that he has amnesty in exile in Belarus anyway just like his soldiers who get away without punishment. Just shows me once again how he ticks - it sounds patronizing and of course the survivors will be able to use the money, but it resonates on a lot of arrogance in his statement. Let's not let it distract us any further because what exactly is behind it. We will never know. On the front lines, I continue to see repeating patterns - dead Ukrainian soldiers and broken Western weapons. The AFU could not take advantage of the situation for itself. Good. There are still new promises of new weapon deliveries e.g. 45 new "Gepard" air defense vehicles to Ukraine. Not to forget the opening of impeachment proceedings against Biden, which was somewhat overshadowed because of the events in Russia. Thank you again to your sanity and steadfastness against the wave of hate, gloating, and misinformation that has been thrown at us. I continue to have great faith in God that Russia will win against all odds. What does the West have to offer but exuberant hatred, discord, intolerance that they present as freedom, energy issues that cannot be solved in this way, money that loses its value, gender madness, alleged protection for minorities although they would never have come if they had not directed their corrupt MIC system to the countries of these refugees, it's all just a bunch of tall tales that the citizens are also aware of - they start to compare and slowly realize that Russia is not what was sold to them. It is also not a paradise but it still counts certain values that they were entrusted to them once and they also miss them. I make now my usual break wish you a pleasant day. Pay it back to one or the other who annoyed you yesterday 😎! See you later... kiasunkiasi liked this post

On June 23, Prigozhin captured a Russian Army headquarters in Rostov, and then launched multiple armored columns straight towards Moscow. This could have been the start of a "Russian Civil War", but the entire ordeal lasted less than 24 hours, and everybody went home. Many questions remain. What was the objective of Prigozhin? Some claim it was to topple the Government, and replace some key members of Russia' Ministry of Defense. Others believe it was staged, and part of a PSYOP operation to relocate the Wagner PMC. |

Update on the conflict in Ukraine for July 3, 2023: - Ukraine’s offensive reaches the 1 month mark and has made relatively little progress beyond the security zones ahead of Russia’s main defenses; - This is mainly owed to Russian mine fields and Ukraine’s inability to clear them while under fire; - Ukraine’s artillery shell supply is limited, the longer the offensive takes, the less ammunition Ukraine will have to support and exploit any breakthroughs that do occur; - Mounting Ukrainian losses mean that any achievements made during the offensive will be difficult to consolidate no matter where on the map the offensive ends; - Unable to breach Russian defenses, Ukraine and its NATO sponsors appear to be exploring “alternative” options to change battlefield dynamics including continued attempts to accuse Russia of planning to destroy the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant; |

Update on the conflict in Ukraine for July 17, 2023: - Western analysts are claiming the recent alleged resignation of Russian General Popov reflects Ukrainian artillery superiority amid the ongoing counteroffensive despite the fact that Ukraine is admittedly losing more armor and troops and has failed to make any substantial progress in over a month and a half of intense fighting; 😆 - Western analysts admit Russia outguns Ukraine both in terms of artillery pieces and artillery ammunition but claims Ukraine has the “edge” because of its “artillery kill chain” which includes drones and counter-battery radars, technology Russia also has but in greater abundance; 😗 - The US is allegedly buying Hawk air defense missiles decommissioned this year by Taiwan. The Hawk air defense systems was developed during the 1960’s and the version Taiwan has on hand was upgrade in the 1980s; 😵 - The Hawk missiles serve as a very limited replacement for medium range air defense systems like Ukraine’s Soviet-era Buk systems and will not enable Ukraine to defend against Russian glide bombs along the line of contact; - Before these Hawk missiles reach Ukraine, they will require refurbishment, a time-consuming process limited by a lack of facilities and qualified human resources. Similar limitations are inhibiting further production of newer weapon systems like the man-portable Stinger anti-aircraft missile; - In the wake of Germany’s Leopard 2 main battle tanks failing on the battlefield, an even smaller number of US M1 Abrams are being touted as the next great hope for Ukrainian forces; 🧐 - In another Washington Post interview with Ukrainian commander General Valery Zaluzhny, he admits that Ukraine doesn't have the necessary material means to succeed on the battlefield; |

▪️ Ukraine has struck the Crimean Bridge again, killing several civilians and damaging the bridge; ▪️While waiting for a full assessment on damage, it appears support columns are intact, one road section is damaged, rail traffic is able to run; ▪️Before the bridge was constructed and before the SMO established a land bridge, ferries and shipping supplied the Russian peninsula; ▪️Crimea can/will survive without the bridge in even the WORST case scenario; ▪️Russia will respond with strategic patience, as it always does, because that is how conflicts are won; ▪️Sun Tzu in The Art of War says: "it is the unemotional, reserved, detached warrior who wins, not the hothead seeking vengeance and not the ambitious seeker of fortune." ▪️There is a good reason Russia demonstrates patience even after the most extreme provocations, this is why after over a year of fighting NATO's combined might, Russia still has the advantage... |

7 weeks into the offensive, only 8 villages returned to Ukraine, with no apparent breakthrough. The cost for such meager gains was staggering. One in three vehicles prepared for the offensive ended up destroyed or damaged. The combination of minefields, artillery and anti-tank weapons proved too difficult. Ukrainian troops are exhausted and very little reserves are left to carry on the counteroffensive. Sky’s international correspondent John Sparks has been speaking to foreign volunteer, Rhys Byrn, an Irish soldier who has been fighting on the frontline in the east of Ukraine. He says the battle to reclaim territory has been horrific. "On 'zero line' it's horror. It's horror. There is just a genocide. It's slaughter." |
