You can use Google Maps device location but you cannot use Location History from this device. Those are 2 different things.

For delayed notification, this is due to the Google framework missing in CN ROMs (not just Motorola).

Motorola is smart so they came up with a solution -
MOTO DEVICE SHIELD.

You have to do ALL STEPS BELOW. ALL.

STEP # 1
Go to Settings > Device Shield > Utility Tools (LOWER RIGHT TAB)
App auto start menu
Enable the apps you want to auto start after restarting your phone.

user posted image

STEP # 2
Background running menu
Put the apps to Allow running in background.

user posted image

AND LASTLY

STEP # 3
Go to App info (example WhatsApp) and put the app to UNRESTRICTED.
user posted image

DONE.
NO DELAYED NOTIFICATION ISSUE. 10000% WORKING.

Couldn't find no #2 in setting though.. or is it somewhere else?
Background running menu right?

Have you tried whether Digi 5G is working on the Razr 2022? Honestly, I like the design of the 2022 more than the 40 Ultra.

Actually this is a problem with Digi where they didn't whitelist moto phones for 5G. Even Moto phones officially sold in Malaysia (ex Edge 30 Pro, RAZR 5G) can't get 5G signal from Digi.

Not sure but I don't think Celcom ever whitelist moto phones also
But this is just my 2 cents

Can't test since I don't have Digi to test

Actually you can visit any Digi store and the tech support will insert their company SIM card on your phone.

Speaking of.. I might visit Digi to get e-SIM since this phone only supports 1 physical SIM card.

It supports e-sim/dual sim without flashing to global ROM. You just need to insist with your telco to switch to e-sim although your phone is not in their compatible list. Tell them you WANT to switch to e-sim. They will just give you a QR code which you need to activate.

My bad. I'll take back my word. As per Motorola China website, it's just single SIM with no eSIM support.

I'm still using CN ROM and do not intend to flash to Global ROM.
Why? Because CN ROM officially supports Google Play Services. It's just a toggle in the settings app.

To make it simple, ALL APPS ARE WORKING IN CN ROM. No issue with Gapps, banking apps etc.

Just take note - ALL Google services are working EXCEPT Google Location History (blocked by CCP) and "hey Google" voice activation.

Anyway, Motorola flashing is a bit tricky but I read that there is a way to flash Global ROM and relock the bootloader (so you can still receive software updates). I don't plan on doing this because there are plenty of features CN ROM has which are missing in Global ROM.

Nice rclxms.gif just a toggle button to active PlayStore and Google Services. Google Location History is not really important and I dont use Hey Google as well. No point to risk flashing to global rom then.

Good info you got there. Btw, how much did you get your phone for?
