QUOTE(arjuna_mfna @ Oct 23 2007, 09:55 AM) not smaller la, the core die based on 55nm, so it smaller compare current r600 which based on 80nm and r630 which based on 65nm. it 256bit smaller die size produce less heat i ask about memory bandwidth.. why transfer less..

Getting Started

I think the difference lies in the fact that we are comparing what is basically the top-of-the-line HD 2900 (that is, the HD 2900XT) with what MIGHT (point is MIGHT) be the base HD 3800.

QUOTE(8tvt @ Oct 22 2007, 08:02 PM) why 3800 smaller? 128bits? doesnt really matter, R600 wasn't mem bandwidth limited anyway.
