From 2024 .. it used to be biannual and bto 3 times a year now instead of 4.

ah ok ok.... good luck in your application. for bto hdb just whack any la if it make sense for the distance to go to work. some of the ccr hdb launches actually quite easy to get as people are put off by the 10 year holding period + other conditions.
*
I am aiming for sbf because of the shorter waiting period, either 2025 to 2026 .. so many units available at queenstown area for the previous bid ..

BTO is good, but the waiting time is too long .. the previous one had tanglin .. but have to wait until 2029 ..

Great. Then should be smooth. I didn't know sbf becomes once a Yr now. I think I saw news on sbf units released in feb, so next sbf is on 2025?
*
Yes the next sbf is on Feb 2025 .. i was actually aiming for the May one prior to this .. and they decided to have it once a year .. arggg

Sbf units usually very limited. Extra competitive. But it saves u 3.5 yrs of waiting.
*
Yeah .. no doubt .. but with the stricken regulations, it should be easier. From what I saw, the rate was below 1 for some places .. not too bad .. haha

huarr.... good luck to you.... hindsight i shud've thrown money at a random property years ago lol! wasted so much money on rental sad.gif
*
Yes .. rental is crazy now .. I think I have spent around 100k on rental .. I have contributed to about 33% of a bto

Many will say don’t marry Sg girl. But on hindsight, when I started work, pay wasn’t great but I get to stay at my wife’s (then gf) family home. That helped me save on rent n build up savings/CPF to acquire my home. In short, don’t simply dismiss Sg girls are all one kind.
*
Haha .. its different for my case .. my wife is an ex-malaysian .. she converted to expedite buying a hdb .. its kinna my fault for all these delays .. so she had to convert ..

Seriously is true ? Insurance guy never talk about it.
*
Yes legit. My insurance guy told me .. I am under GE.

What you have to do is to be in malaysia every 90 days .. as long as u step in malaysia .. and leave .. the count starts.

So example, you stayed in sg without stepping into malaysia for 100 days .. you're not eligible for insurance claim .. on the other hand .. if you go out on the 100th day .. and return to sg .. your 90 days count restarts again .. so if anything happens, for instance, in the 40th day .. u still can claim

To be safe just get a medical card .. it would cost around 1k .. depending on your age..

Ya and mine is just medical card , so it don’t not affect if only medical card ? No limit on 90days ?
*
90 days is applicable to medical card too. What I was saying was to get a medical card in sg .. not the one in malaysia if you wan to be safe.

Any update from any applicants so far? Just hit my 6 months mark ..

Did anyone write in to ask before? I guess most of us here are men, ladies seem to have better privilege over us. Most of them got it within 6 to 8 months.

Probably no news (which is good news, since there's no rejection)... so no updates.

Singapore isn't in a hurry these days.

Which is why I'm thinking of taking up the citizenship offer before they change their minds and make me wait/beg/grovel....
*
Pending status .. haha .. well, true .. they are not in a rush .. but I am .. need to get a pigeon hole ASAP .. renting is not feasible in a long run .. crazy hdb prices coming up ..

Likely they will still offer u ba .. very unlikely they gonna kick u out .. ure rich to pay taxes .. haha

One of the reasons why I’m not so confident about PR renewal is because of the anecdotal experience of so many PRs in waiting…. I don’t think as a retiree, my heart can cope with the suspense!
*
Well, if they don't, they gonna lose a huge chunk of cpf..why would they want that? Haha

Guys, my status is still pending but with 4 lines. I was informed that 4 lines is an indication of my application is being processed. Is this true? And, there's an in-principal approval number under my CPF. Anyone can confirm this?

Yes, the four lines in the system shows mostly your application are going to be approved.

May I know how do you find out the in-principal approval number of your CPF account?
You received CPF email or SMS?
You have been applying for Singapore permanent residency just 6 months.

So fast.

I already apply for 1 year but still show 2 lines only.
*
Through the app, click on CPF >> medisafe .. then they will show the status update there. I didn't know until I was informed by my wife who surfs xiaohongshu. But no idea is it true. So just want to confirm.

I have been in Sg for almost 8 years .. haha .. also coz I tag to my wife I guess.

4 lines means confirm you'll have your blue IC soon.

Is it true? Haha .. but it seems I do have a CPF account linked to my in principle approval reference, not sure how it works.

Pigeon hole today, freehold landed detached property in the future.

Ya .. I may only do it in the future in malaysia. A peasant like me wouldn't make it big anyway. I would be contented to have a shelter

Sorry to ask, and no offense intended, but do you have any kids?

My brother and his wife are also applying for permanent residency. They don't have any kids.

His wife has a work permit, and he is sponsoring her. It's taking around 1 year for approval.
*
No, I don't. But how long have they been married? I have been staying with my wife since I came. So, both of us are registered under the same address for years.
