The engineers think too much in designing futuristic cars here touchscreen here and there, but forgot to look into basic safety practicality while driving.

Maybe the AUDIO control: HI PROTON, like Hey SIRI, can solve the touchcreen hazard.
HI PROTON - switch to FM channel 2

yesterday i saw a video about tesla 3 year ownership review

and 1 of the thing he complained is the screen...everything is touchscreen...even the a/c control
it's distracting if you want to adjust the a/c when you're driving

One year already still complaining about touchscreen, which everyone knows from day dot is the centrepiece of the 3.

I have my headlights, wipers and A/C on auto, which are pretty much standard features on most modern cars these days.

Audio can be controlled through steering wheel buttons, and I usually make calls or set the nav using voice.

Touchscreen is stupid especially inside the car. Buttons more convenient because no need to find hidden menus or settings.

Carmakers prefer touchscreen because cheaper to buy and produce.

Engineers are slaves to the policymakers and executives /higher ups

Cibai…now all agree with article and complain about touchscreen….but each time Toyota releases a new car which still has knobs and buttons , y’all criticise the design as ugly and comments like “look at those ducking big knobs/buttons”

I told my friends how I hate touchscreens on vehicles and I got backslap with how outdated and not tech savvy at all. I thought maybe I'm just old and cannot accept new technologies, until I saw that VW is reverting their touchscreens to buttons.

uuuh..duuh?
damn touch screen is flat and u must look/glance at it if you want to correctly interact with it. i hate screen in car. some machem kenot completely turn off, keep producing light in dark. very annoying n distracting.

knob/physical button, just raba-raba no need to really look/glance

Don’t Tesla has voice control functions like SIRI?  He can use that SIRI equivalent instead of manually does this.

Yeah same here. Touch screens are fancy, young people like it. But nothing beats physical buttons man.
