QUOTE(ccschua @ Oct 16 2023, 10:01 PM) If its 0.125%, this is quite competitive, compared what CIMB charge. I regretted not using direct TT. After reading this further, if you are getting 3.4248, then the exchange rate is not 0.125%. from 3.47 to 3.42, its 1.3%. this is daylight robbery. for info, CIMB charges 0.17%. i had been making sgd to myr conversion recently. The 0.125% is service charge. Not to be confused with the exchange rate "loss".

QUOTE(ozak @ Nov 16 2023, 09:05 AM) Can't enjoy that fast. My fund is frozen by the bank. This morning bank call need supporting document to unfreeze the fund. It is over the transfer amount limit into the country. But I think EPF still hasn't sent the statement to me. Usually by snail mail. Damn. Got to go to bank. Which local bank did you bank in the money to?

QUOTE(ozak @ Nov 16 2023, 09:14 AM) Quite surprising. In my personal experience, mbb is more "relaxed" when it comes to remittance compared to, say pbb. But that was quite some time ago. And this fund is from cpf, which imo should indicate it's a legit fund? Please update here when they unfreeze it.

QUOTE(ozak @ Nov 16 2023, 10:12 PM) You have only 5 days to respond to the freeze fund. If you fail to respond, the fund will be sent back. How's the exchange rate like compared to say XE when you transferred to your mbb account?

QUOTE(Vector88 @ Dec 20 2023, 05:57 PM) hi, has anyone successfully close the CPF account WITHOUT renouncing your Singapore PR at ICA or SG Embassy ? meaning you can just go to CPF office and present your old Singapore IC physically to CPF office and get your CPF account closed ? You mean for those whose re-entry permit has expired?

QUOTE(bizaxx @ Dec 21 2023, 06:49 AM) Guys, Does the ‘Malaysian residing in west Malaysia’ rule apply anymore? Can I withdraw if I’m residing in KL upon renouncing? As long as you're not a PR, your account will be closed.

QUOTE(mamamee @ Jan 23 2024, 09:42 AM) You don't have to renounce, as long your re-entry permit expired and you do not renew it for long enough, you are no longer PR in the system, in another way to verify yourself, if you have Singpass previously and suddenly you can't log in to CPF account, which gives your the hint that your PR has probably been canceled automatically, this happens to me. This is based on your own experience withdrawing cpf recently?

QUOTE(diffyhelman2 @ Feb 2 2024, 06:08 PM) I recently closed my CPF acct in person at Sg maxwell. I was informed (during the appointment, after everything finished) that I need to update my sg bank particular (DBS) as my NRIC no longer valid, and I had to go to Lavender citizen pr service to hand over my IC and renunciation letter, after that I updated my bank particulars at DBS main branch at Marina south. was a bit rushed, but I did everything in one day (appt at CPF 12pm, hand over IC at lavender 1pm plus and then updated bank particular at Marina at 2pm plus. You don't have to hand over your IC, but the DBS person said that since the account is opened under my NRIC and is no longer valid, it would be better to update to MY ic. and for that, they require the ICA letter. Does it mean it's not compulsory to update bank account details to Msia IC?

QUOTE(mamamee @ Feb 5 2024, 03:29 PM) Yes, my experience. Withdrawn in July 2023, received the fund in less than 14 weeks. Since you did not renounce pr but reentry permit expired, did you have to surrender the PR IC to the authorities? Or you're still keeping it?

QUOTE(ccschua @ Mar 25 2024, 01:46 PM) its not a good idea to keep in the CPF. since last year, I had withdrawn all and better off put in the Treasury Bill earning 3.8%. the highest I got was 3.98%. I think T-bills require CDP account, right? Do you know whether it is possible to have the cdp and share trading accounts indefinitely once you are no longer a PR?

QUOTE(ertorque @ May 16 2024, 02:00 PM) I'd llke to share my journey in this matter. On 4th April 2024, my wife and I visited the Maxwell branch and successfully closed our CPF accounts. We requested that the funds be transferred via telegraphic transfer to our CIMB bank accounts. While my wife received her funds on 19th April 2024 (in only 2 weeks which is a pleasant surprise), I have not received mine as of this writing. This morning I wrote to CPF asking them to see if there were something amiss since both my wife and I had our accounts close at the same time. My letter contain these sentences ....... "I couldn't help but wonder if the “delay” in receiving my funds is due to an oversight on your part or if there are still outstanding requirements for funds disbursement/closing my account. This query is triggered by the fact that my wife and I had the closure done at the same time, yet she has already received her funds. I understand that what is happening could very well be within CPF’s disbursement process and procedure but if that isn’t the case, I would appreciate if you could investigate and let me know." I received an official reply in about an hour saying that the average processing time is 18 weeks bla bla bla..............and posted this link which someone here in lowyat has shared. https://www.cpf.gov.sg/member/faq/account-s...to-close-my-cpfThis shows that disbursement of funds is not necessarily done on a first-come-first-serve basis. May I know if there's a big difference in the amount of funds between yours and that of your wife? If so, is her amount much bigger or smaller? I'm wondering if the size of the fund makes any difference.

QUOTE(ertorque @ Jun 12 2024, 08:53 PM) Update: receive funds yesterday.......so it is not that long a wait after all. 4th April close account in Maxwell branch until 11th June is about 9weeks. Did you request them to transfer to Msia or Singapore bank? If Msia bank, may I know what is the exchange rate given to you?

QUOTE(jjlowkk @ Jun 23 2024, 12:36 AM) Mine is 6th week now, the balance is zero already, does it mean that i should receive it around 9th week? did you trf to sg bank or foreign bank? I think it also affect the speed? How do you check your account balance? Are you still able to scan CPF site to login using Singpass? I thought Singpass will be disabled once you're no longer a PR?

QUOTE(freestyle @ Jun 23 2024, 01:22 PM) You can go to cpf website, choose password login, otp will be send to your sg mobile, then use that to log in You mean this step? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Click login It brings to this page. When clicked "password login", it goes here asking for Singpass ID. After keying Singpass ID and pwd, it says unable to login and asks to reset pwd. But it shows this after resetting pwd even after confirming the details are correct.
