just installed shock sensor at max auto as suggested by blackpc
the brand of the sensor is 'wheels'
ok ok lor
rm50 (abit steep if u consider whats inside the thing...cost is prolly bout 5 bucks and they bought it for 10)
it was listed at 68
then the fella said 60
but then i said my friend lastime fixed for 50
so he said ok
hahaha
these auto shops really jack their prices
sighz
anywayz...they managed to fix it in nicely
its now stuck to the metal plate next to the fuse rack
so just pull off the cover then can see it and adjust its sensitivity thumbup.gif

just a note:

those guys at max auto that fixed my shock sensor yesterday got the diode installed backwards
the symptoms were that when i turn my key (and my immobilizer is not deactivated...so the car cant start) my 'open door' light on the dashboard will flick once
at first i thought that it was just a weird thing with my car as my bro's car didnt do that

but then today i accidentally opened the booth using my key without disarming my alarm
and the alarm DIDNT trip!
i was like...WTH?!
went straight back to then and they rectified it

so ppl...if u install shock sensor,...make sure test everything after you drive out of the shop
if i didnt accidentally open my booth today, i wouldnt have known n would have been happily driving around with and alarm system that was next to useless rclxub.gif

oh
and another thing
the shock sensor is not just plug n play as mentioned here on before by some ppl
its a retro fit
they have to cut 1 wire leading into your alarm box
i think they are placing the sensor in series with the door switches
the stock iswara alarm box does now have provision to add in a shock sensor without modifying the wiring wink.gif

Asking for help !!  Any1 noe how to take out the clarion cd player on the new saga front panel??
*
u have t take off the face plate
n taking off the trim would make things easier
the trim is just pulled off as its only clipped in
(mine is vibrating n is damn irritating...trying to solve it)
u'll see a could of holes on each side
make a U shaped wire with legs about 5-6 inches long
having two makes life easier
the wire will have to be from something abit thick
similar to the hole sizes...i think about 2-2.5mm
then slot it into those holes....this will release the clips
then u'll be able to pull out the unit
wink.gif

install sound proofing - tar strips (doors)
install starter motor relay (sure will have prob soon so might as well solve the prob before it happens tongue.gif hahaha)
get a stabilizer bar (improves handling a lot)
install cold air intake duct (can get ori one from proton parts)

once you kautim these few things, you will have a car that is much better than a production line iswara...almost like its a diff car d thumbup.gif

i remeber that 1. nice ler. hmmmm.
do you know where the shop?
*
mine is just the normal wan lor...the one that bolts onto the shock absorber itself
some ppl say that isnt so good
should get the one that bolts onto the body
either way,...the stabilizer bar makes a world of difference for cornering as the iswara body is kinda 'soft' and so it cant hold the road properly when cornering

im still working on getting the contact info for the shop in nilai selling the tar strips

if u want the CAI duct, u can go to proton directly n get them
i dont think other ppl sell it
the model numbers are on the link i sent u

their contact details are:
Lot 91, HICOM Glenmarie Industrial Park
Mukim of Damansara
District of Petaling
Selangor Darul Ehsan

u mean the pic of the CAI duct in the red car?
its the same air filter box as our 27k iswaras
its just that my dad's car (thats the car in the pic) is a full spec 1.5 saloon
so it has full auto choke and hot air gate to take in hot air from the exhaust manifold heat shield on cold morning starts
...ever wondered why the heat shield (that doesnt even fit anymore now that they retro fitter new extractors) had a little pipe sticking out the top of it?... brows.gif
thats where the air filter supose to suck hot air from

doesnt look like it was a turbo
the meter is mounted on the/next to the manifold
it has a tube going into the intake manifold
im quite sure its an injection engine
so im guessing a vacuum gauge tongue.gif

eh...wait a sec
come to think of it,...it looks like one of those gizmos thats supose to 'compress' more air into the air intake by connecting it to the vacuum system...
hmm.gif until now oso havnt figured out how those things work...
was considering buying one just to take it apart n see wats inside...
but then they are so expensive...
cant afford sad.gif

ok...
heres what i have done for my car so far
all mods are there to either improve performance, comfort or functionality
they arent expensive (relatively speaking...i think less than a good ICE oso tongue.gif hahaha)

1.
DIY insulated the whole car. used insuflex for floor, booth, roof, bonnet and firewall. used tar strips for door panels.
this greatly reduces road noise, engine noise and that 'milo tin' effect which is so common among the new iswaras
cost: less than RM300

2.
DIY install stabilizer bar
this significantly improves handling around corners at high speed. mine is bolted onto the shock's bar. some say that isnt good. the ones that bolt directly onto the body will also work i guess...most important is to stiffen the chassis so it doesnt flex too much when cornering
cost: RM45

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

3.
DIY a door for the glove 'shelf'
without this thing, i couldnt keep much on that shelf....everything kept falling out... grumble.gif i know its not the prettiest thing around...but it serves its purpose marvelously thumbup.gif
cost: ~RM25

Added on October 23, 2007, 9:48 pm4.
DIY installed a vacuum gauge
this helps you drive well...it tells you when you are pressing too hard (shouldnt go less than 5inHg), and also is also the best (cheap) diagnostic tool for your engine
cost: ~RM100 (including shipping from the US)

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

5.
DIY installed the starter motor relay
most iswaras have this starter problem (when the key is turned, it goes *click*,...but nothing happens)...this relay totally solves the problem
cost: ~RM15

6.
DIY installed original proton CAI duct
this will give your car cold air just like the other hosing n all...but is much neater. Also, since its drawing air from the fender cavity, there should be negligeble spray n kick-up getting sucked in...this should keep your air filter cleaner longer wink.gif
cost: RM51

installed shock sensor
got this from max auto in bangi as suggested by blackpc (its apposite the pkns building)...this is a retro fit...they'll cut one of your alarm wires to add it in...its a simple job...took bout 20mins all in
cost: RM50

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

8.
GOING TO DO
install another cigarette lighter socket
the current one is directly infront of my 1st gear position
so when i plug in my hp charger and try to shift into 1st gear when holding the gear shift knob normally, my hand will hit the wire...this is really a dumb design by proton...no idea y they didnt recess it like the old iswara dashboards...anywayz...i've bought the socket already...from max auto also...quite hard to find...and this looks like a good quality one too! biggrin.gif plan to install it facing up infront of the gear shift...the corner looks like got enough space hmm.gif
cost: RM13

no ur car must have shock sensor in ur alarm set only got if not no.. only got the classic "BANG" sound when ppl hit ur car
*
depends wat type of sensor you installing
some type needs the alarm to have the feature
but then there are types (like the one i got installed) that doesnt
basically they cut the door switch wire n put it in series (thats what i think they did)
stock iswara alarm box dun have the place to plug in shock sensor
so have to retro-fit it wink.gif
