QUOTE(nexona88 @ Oct 5 2023, 10:54 AM) Increase promo rates?? There's still one final OPR meeting next month so up to BNM to decide if they want to save the economy or the ringgitDon't really think so... So far, their rates consider more than average by market standards.... which all wayyy lower than 5% |

Maybe once Rize promo is over, can consider their traditional banking foreign currency account but they have limited choices:

QUOTE(jasontoh @ Oct 13 2023, 03:47 PM) Eventually can we wire this out as USD to other account like Wise instead of changing it back to RM before going back to USD in Wise? How is the conversion? The conversion rates for account with debit card is better than without debit card https://www.rhbgroup.com/treasury-rates/mul...card/index.html |

ABMB don't seem to be taking customer feedbacks seriously. Notification issues still not solved since I signed up in May.
Maybe once promo is over, they know most will transfer out so that they could revamp the entire app from scratch. |

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Nov 10 2023, 01:05 PM) small-ish amount can pass through without CS verification From what I notice, system will block once transfer amount is 5 digits and need to contact CS for verification before they perform 'maintenance' to your account. from what i read here, min RM30k transfer will be blocked (temporary) until verified by CS via call. Still required to do this even if you have made max transfers to your own accounts in the past. cybpsych liked this post

I logged in before 8am this morning & interest was in. No idea if interest calculation is accurate.
Their current outsource app developer just can't cut it. The app needs an overhaul from scratch with a new outsource app developer. |

Due to this issue, they will need to offer 5% interest next year to recover all the withdrawals today

Rize app already facing issue today then suddenly everyone panic and doing bank run mass withdrawal which will only compound more problems to their current system. At least let them fix the initial issue then only withdraw and close account.

QUOTE(sjz @ Dec 12 2023, 03:20 PM) lots of people discussing OPR and keep on telling When inflation rate is higher than interest rate means they have negative real rates hence their currency is losing purchasing power. Inflation is a hidden tax.increase OPR will definitely strengthen the value of currency. there r examples out there, look at Argentina or Turkey, how many % is their OPR and how their currency behave. my view is that, currency in circulation plays a bigger role. simple logics, you keep printing paper $$, your $$ value will drop. Interest rate % - Inflation rate % = Real interest rate % This post has been edited by virulence: Dec 12 2023, 04:17 PM |

QUOTE(sjz @ Dec 12 2023, 10:19 PM) OPR is not everything. The key issue is that governments want to keep spending to push up GDP numbers to the point of deficits & have to print money to cover the loss instead of having a balance budget. Debts are at record levels and if interest rates keep going up which would mean even higher interest expenses for governments.look at how HK manage it vs USD. although they face an uphill battle defending the peg, but as of now its still workable. sjz liked this post

Looks like Rize can survive till end of March for now
I have FD maturing on 2nd Jan & rates aren't that attractive. Might as well park here for the moment. |
