IC. I tot Online Banking != Digital Banking. Online Bank and Digital bank is 2 different entity.

To operate Online Bank = Need bank license.

To operate Digital Bank =  Need Digital Bank license, that why 5 new Digital Bank license was awarded last year.

=================================

If I understand correctly, now seem for existing Bank to operate Digital Bank = No new license require.

So soon or later Tiger, Sotong bank will have new Digital bank App soon?
*
It is up to Tiger and Sotong whether they want to offer it or not but the main thing for banks it has to be profitable 1st in their minds whether to offer or not

Anyway CIMB have such offering called Octo account already πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

good to see rize rising in terms of their customer base LOL
*
Rising customer base no point πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

The most important when having a digital bank is 18/7/365 support

If your Rize account are in trouble during after office hours it is helpless itself

Got this error message when i try to order the debit card doh.gif

[attachmentid=11465701]
*
Very child like unpolished app as the links are broken everywhere and breakfix only upon customer error

This is why Rize is hopeless unless it is 18/7/365 support to fix such errors πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

What can be invested in "Saving pot"? Do the saving Pot entitled for the 4% promo?
*
Only saving pot entitled to the promo

Have to ask them to escalate the matter to their IT doh.gif

Very child’s play

You should try Versa because when errors happens they usually fix it within 4 hours and they will get back to you with updates πŸ‘

Hence why digital bank even more important have a good and solid 18/7/365 support otherwise if anything haywire especially account missing funds πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Did they mentioned only saving pot entitled for this promo? Any t&c?
*
The problem is the promo is only on the amended interest calculation without any clarification but on the press release stating itself already πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

why 18/7/365 and not 24/7/365?
*
Because no banks in Malaysia offer 24/7 support already πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

The most you can hope is 18/7

Misleading information given by them

Anyone who read it as if it's available 24/7
*
Yes that is why the () is the one can mislead them particularly the one with bigger fonts πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Banks these days have cut down on support staff and even since 997 has been established most banks fraud reporting channels has been passed to them hence banks are actually cutting down back end support staff which is why they are able to increase pay recently

Has anyone successfully withdraw from RIZE account? I'm thinking of transferring funds from KDI save to RIZE but hold some reservations as the bank doesn't have many branches in Malaysia
*
Why should you worried when you put in money in KDI yet don’t have any branches to withdraw πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

You should only be worried if the banks are able to withdraw not connected to FPX

The profit rates are tier based and lower than conventional bank ..

Don't fall for that

All banks are using tier rates these days πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

It is only good for 1st 5k and then follow by UOB promo

No.. If other banks that says 5000-10000 is 1% and 10001-50000 is 2%

so, if you have 20k in it, You will get 2% of the amount you have with the bank based on the eligible tier

Unlike Rize they you calculate based on

10k for 1%
Remaining balance for 2%
*
Most banks would not do 5000 tier πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Usually 1st 10k then 10-100k or 10-50k tier

Anyway UOB new promo trump Rize easily πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

This morning 11am+  email the support, now already 3pm + but no reply, sure they got 18/7/365 support?

If real 365 mean Public Holiday also got people work, some more today haven't holiday yet. doh.gif
*
Like I said earlier HOPE πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ so read properly

The problems today not lies in the bank but PMX himself for confusing and causing business to lose money by announcing an extra holiday and not fixing it πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

This bank already failed as a customer expectation to have a reply instantly within 10 minutes using reply bot while an update should within 4 hours πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

So it is already failed my standard test on how FI response Just forget about it only because it is not like you can earn so much from the limited 5%πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

The best we can get is only 4% per annum, and we need to remember to perform so many actions in order to get the higher rate. What makes you say it's better than Rize?
*
It is only 2 actions which you used frequently like pay bills and account transfers πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

It is because the amount earn in total not like Rize only on promo rates till August and with lousy customer support πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

If I put in RM200k to UOB one and perform the 2 actions, how much interest I will be getting?
*
You calculate yourself πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ but with 200k I suggest to put the max 100k for it and then 100k in another banks that gives similar interests

Most physical banks (i.e. excluding digital banks like Rize) have a limit of 100k to earn high interest rates. Above that, rates drop. And all require you to do some actions too! These features are not unique to UOB.

Think UOB 4% on 100k is the highest amongst physical banks currently. RHB Smart Account maximum rate is 3.35% on 100k; OCBC 3.1% on 100k.
*
That’s why I say put only 100k in a single banks to get the maximum rates πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ as banks are not stupid to give higher rates for higher savers

Yes UOB, RHB, OCBC and HLB will always out do one and other those rates hence which is why one constantly have to check monthly but it is only worth it if one have 100k cash in hand otherwise it is negligible

QUOTE(xperiaDROID @ Apr 20 2023, 04:45 PM)
Banks generally discriminate unemployed individuals, basically the "Unemployed" option in the employment detail section is there for decoration, so it wouldn't look too obvious that they actually discriminate on first glance. When they reject your application, they can just say you don't fulfill their "internal policy".

But Al Rajhi is worse, just like some other foreign banks, they tend to discriminate self employed individuals too, so if you're something like a gig worker you'll definitely be rejected because they don't understand what is "gig".
There's no need for banks to make a new app just to offer "digital bank" service, those banks who did that are all unreliable and if there's something wrong with your account you're screwed because everything can only be done via the app, some can't even provide debit cards which is worse, I would say they're doomed to fail because of the small userbase and they don't seem to be serious in improving too.

Banks nowadays (HSBC excluded) already provide seamless online account opening via their current app or website without visiting a branch, this method is the way to go because you can still visit the branch when things go wrong.
*
The discrimination is because applicant risk assessment failed and prone to misuse and defaults πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

when problems come... BNM will say they did not authorise Rize to provide or receive money for savings purpose.

BNM encourages the public always check with rightful channels.
*
BNM approved them via Al Rajhi Bank PDS πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ hence there is should not be any dispute on that πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

The problem lies more tech and support team which is non existent at best as they leveraging on Al Rajhi IT team

QUOTE(Super2047 @ Apr 20 2023, 04:55 PM)
I guess if someone with more than RM100k, the best thing is to park RM100K at UOB, the rest at KDI biggrin.gif (after August 31)
*
Not KDI but Versa because their base net return since Feb has been consistently returning 3.95% πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ
