IC. I tot Online Banking != Digital Banking. Online Bank and Digital bank is 2 different entity.

To operate Online Bank = Need bank license.

To operate Digital Bank =  Need Digital Bank license, that why 5 new Digital Bank license was awarded last year.

Has anyone successfully withdraw from RIZE account? I'm thinking of transferring funds from KDI save to RIZE but hold some reservations as the bank doesn't have many branches in Malaysia

No.. If other banks that says 5000-10000 is 1% and 10001-50000 is 2%

so, if you have 20k in it, You will get 2% of the amount you have with the bank based on the eligible tier

Unlike Rize they you calculate based on

10k for 1%
Remaining balance for 2%

Just to ask, what's the point of getting this Rize debit card ya? If I need hard cash, I can transfer money from Rize to my bank and withdraw from there. If I want to buy things, I can use my existing cc. Can someone enlighten me pls 😅

The best we can get is only 4% per annum, and we need to remember to perform so many actions in order to get the higher rate. What makes you say it's better than Rize?

Most physical banks (i.e. excluding digital banks like Rize) have a limit of 100k to earn high interest rates. Above that, rates drop. And all require you to do some actions too! These features are not unique to UOB.

Think UOB 4% on 100k is the highest amongst physical banks currently. RHB Smart Account maximum rate is 3.35% on 100k; OCBC 3.1% on 100k.

Banks generally discriminate unemployed individuals, basically the "Unemployed" option in the employment detail section is there for decoration, so it wouldn't look too obvious that they actually discriminate on first glance. When they reject your application, they can just say you don't fulfill their "internal policy".

But Al Rajhi is worse, just like some other foreign banks, they tend to discriminate self employed individuals too, so if you're something like a gig worker you'll definitely be rejected because they don't understand what is "gig".
There's no need for banks to make a new app just to offer "digital bank" service, those banks who did that are all unreliable and if there's something wrong with your account you're screwed because everything can only be done via the app, some can't even provide debit cards which is worse, I would say they're doomed to fail because of the small userbase and they don't seem to be serious in improving too.

Banks nowadays (HSBC excluded) already provide seamless online account opening via their current app or website without visiting a branch, this method is the way to go because you can still visit the branch when things go wrong.

when problems come... BNM will say they did not authorise Rize to provide or receive money for savings purpose.

BNM encourages the public always check with rightful channels.

I guess if someone with more than RM100k, the best thing is to park RM100K at UOB, the rest at KDI (after August 31)
