McClown will most likely start the game with the expectation of not losing the game. So he will approach that game not to lose the game. Although in his press conference that the team will approach the game with a positive attitude but pragmatic he will be conservative and ensure that the team will get the right result.

Although if the team does get the result I doubt the fans will get behind him as most of the fans are disillusion with him at the helm.

I'm amazed by how fortunate England are. It seems that whenever they are on the brink of elimination, other results will go their way. The Russian's really did them a huge favour.

You could say it's luck but I look at it differently. If England vs Russia were the last match and Russia vs Israel were the first match and Russia still lost, England would have qualified already. I think it balances itself out. Just like some may say Scotland were robbed, they weren't good enough over the period of one qualifying campaign.

The door is wide open for the 3 Lions, them Russian really nuke themselves right in their own face!!!! doh.gif Still do not see how they will do well in Euro 08 with McClown still at the helm.

True but there is also the issue of psychology involved. One could say that there was a great deal of pressure on Russia and they chocked.

And I'm sure good old England won't disappoint either, what makes everyone so sure that they'd even manage to sneak a draw? smile.gif

after all, england playing in wembley. home ground advantage.
croatia already qualified but their close relation with russia may made things harder for england.

I am a england fan. But, think that England will get a draw / lost in the next fixture. Furthermore, i don't think McClaren has done a good job in England. He prefer to put SWP in the England squad. Why? Because he is well paid and famous from the past? Why excluded Beckham in the past? I think McClown is a ex- ManUtd assistant. That explains why he drops Beckham from the start. Anyway, even if England does manage to qualify. They will lose in the beginning of the cup. They can't even perform in this team also.

I disagree, I don't think England have played well for the majority of their qualifying matches. Let's not take games against Macedonia and Andorra into consideration as these teams share the same ranking as Malaysia. I think they often look disjointed, as a team would if they had good individual players with big egos would.

Hmm, that is the reason i feel England qualify or not. This does not matter to me. England will disqualify in the early stages.

i tot being an ex united assistant will only want Beckham to play more often?

ego is the main problem i guess
imagine passing the ball to your arch-rival who has something u don't (CL, epl trophy)
thats why hardly any creative/spontaneous play

Hmm, Beckham is sold last time because he throw shoe at SAF. He may be feel that beckham is a player who does not respect his squad's manager. For that, he drop Beckham out of the squad from the beginning.
