QUOTE(prasys @ Dec 4 2007, 05:05 PM) Pinging does not work - It still kicks you to UMTS....Although its 'active' (aka it will not redirect you to some crappy Maxis Welcome page which sucks). So you'll need to use some auto 'connector' that does it ! i using the auto ping now~i wont kick to UMTS~ it ping tmnet dns server 202.188.1.5 every 20sec. QUOTE(JWCheah @ Dec 4 2007, 11:36 PM) I think some auto-ping program only offers minimum time to ping every 5 minutes or so which is too long as I tested juz now, it takes about 3 minutes of idle and it will drop to UTMS mode. WEDJOHN: care to share which program you are using? I've tested the www.livescores.com or teamtalk.com live scores and it worked to retain it at HSDPA, where it will request for refresh every minute but you need to have an active football game in-place for it to update the scores, work best over the weekends minimun 5 minute auto ping?? wah~this is very long period ler mine 1 u can set the period to any second as u like~but this program cant save the site u add to ping. so every time u restart ur pc, u will nid to key-in again everything. auto ping software link Added on December 5, 2007, 12:28 amsuddenly got an idea~we go and create a website that will auto reload every minute and then host it.juz a blank website. so we alway surf the website~~haha This post has been edited by wedjohn57: Dec 5 2007, 12:28 AM |

I almost wanted to code my own auto-ping. yea~haha~last time i also same with u almost near to build my own ping software aldy.Ya, I noticed somehow my connection drop to UMTS for a short while (after idling) and back to HSDPA when I start surfing. Didn't really take the effort to find out why as long as I can surf at good speed back then. but too lazy~ Added on December 5, 2007, 11:47 amthese 2 days i noticed that my internet connection is damn slow~dont knw y like this~ although all my rssi, rscp value still remain the same. any idea? QUOTE(JWCheah @ Dec 7 2007, 12:02 AM) I start to believe that the rain is no longer a factor. cool man ur stuff~~ Nope. utorrent WebUI... go check out this thread and you will understand what's all the buzz is about.... < Click Here...>(not appropriate to discuss this here) _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Someone requested me to post up my crappy ugly but effective antenna so here goes : [attachmentid=354865] I've tried adding a piece of aluminum foil to the parabolic but it weakens the signal, hence, speed drop about 20%.... not meant to be........ Looking at this you will get the basic idea how it helps.... but i've not given up hope to get a commercial version but can't find one that boost the 2100Mhz freq that it requires. buti got a question, seem u like using the maxis bb in a fixed place only, y u apply the usb modem 1? apply zte can save RM40 per month |

QUOTE(shutterdll @ Dec 9 2007, 12:01 PM) Hi guys, nearer 0 is better Just got my Maxis Broadband. Now trying my modem at different places. Wanna ask about RSSI. The bigger the number is better or lower? Quite confused when people say lower since there is a negative sign. Between: RSSI: -69 dBm RSSI: -75 dBm is -69 better or -75 better? Thanks. |

QUOTE(JWCheah @ Dec 9 2007, 10:38 PM) that is why the usb e220 needs the 5m extension.... you can try by just waving your hand around it and you can see the speed fluctuates. haha~~u really got count 1 ah?? I think it is the same for ZTE... you can still find an extension cable.... i think it is a cross version... not sure. Congrats, you are probably the 1,678,912th person who has ask that question, the answer is like all the rest... no limit now, no extra charges now and if they charge... probably 1,678,913 ppl will get it including yourself.... |

QUOTE(prasys @ Dec 10 2007, 07:48 PM) Nobody wants a firewalled Internet connection. Firstly , you can do anything with it , you can't even establish a direct connection yea~i also hate those green shirt guy~Its called Maxis Fair..I hate those green maxis guys , seriously. friday when i go pc fair, got a green shirt with maxis catalog guy wanna to promote the maxis broadband to me~but u knw what he say? "sir , streamyx! " damn funny~ Added on December 10, 2007, 11:39 pm QUOTE(JWCheah @ Dec 10 2007, 10:04 PM) USB Package RM118/mth for 18 months (no clause stating that the usb modem is free, might need to return after the contract).... i think the RM100 registration fees is still applicable. You save RM20/month. my frd said if u r maxis postpaid user, first 3 month is RM85 only. This post has been edited by wedjohn57: Dec 10 2007, 11:40 PM |
