Shearer won PL with Blackburn, and came close with Newcastle but didnt win much with them but its his boyhood club so it is what it is. Either way, we need to stop looking at these 30 year old attackers larh, time to go for younger STs.

We need an owner that makes this a passion project rather than treating it as a business. So i dont care where the owner is from.

As a personal opinion, I don't think it is completely accurate to say we are playing counter attacking football or even labelling it cowardice football. We are only as strong as our squad capabilities.

Start if the season, yes. The last 10 games minus the Arsenal game, I would prefer the word 'control'. We play a controlled game. We have control of the midfield nd the limiting of opposition chances before they materialise. We see less of our CBs making highlight reel tackles because there is no need to. We have a CDM in Casemiro who controls the flow and snuffs out chances early.

The Arsenal game was always going to be different. We are playing away from home. We are playing the most in form team in the League who are also the League leaders. We are playing without our most vital midfield player in Casemiro. And we lost only to a last minute goal. Playing open against Arsenal would be almost suicide with a midfield of McFred.

In half a season, I do see tactical progress towards a more controlled style play. And no, the Board has let the manager down and if we get Top 4, it is in spite of the Board and not because.

So for me.....

Progress : Yes. Tactical and team wise.
Manager : Big yes. ETH is exceeded my expectations at the half season mark.
Team : Still has holes in the squad to resolve. We need another midfielder badly and fullback cover.
Club Management : Still shit. Poor scouting, poor negotiation. Owners are crap. And yes club management has a big impact on a club, see Liverpool. Klopp is a World class manager and they are only in their position because club hasn't backed the manager and rejuvenated the midfield. Instead plonking 100m on Nunez and calling it a day.
