Still stick to Ventura haven't make the jump, but I read somewhere in MacRumors forum about Sonoma beta being so stable that didn't happen on MacOS for so long ago.

Wanted to see other Sonoma user comment about it.

Wow. After a few months of using MacBook Pro, I really love it!! I love that it always stays cool, no fan noises, boot up really fast and it’s a super powerhouse! And also the speaker is absolutely breathtaking.

Powerhouse thing I can’t really vouch for it because I realise that now I’m ended up with a super beast and meanwhile I’m just using it mostly for surfing and watching shows. Lol!

Am thinking to resell it and get something cheaper like air, should have gotten an Air in hindsight. lol!

I have been considering gaming laptop honestly but it seems like I can use GeForce now to play these days? Anyone tried it?

Not recommended and honestly the Macs have always been behind when it comes to gaming and playing especially those AAA title games. If you are going to use your Mac for the basic items, yes, the Macbook Air is the perfect Mac for that and you can have a lighter laptop. For me, I switch between a gaming desktop for games and a Macbook Pro M2 for work (company provided).

seriously do not recon skin for macbook pro. when ur macbook is operating, the whole macbook is actually hot becos the entire body is made of aluminium.

i had used case instead before i think it is better for protecting the macbook.

My MacBook Pro has never heated up before. What do you all use as protection though? I don’t bring my MacBook Pro out except for 1 trip, even then it stays in hotel all the time. I really wanna get a case that doesn’t lift up the screen or cause any scratches on it.

If Apple silicon and not Intel one certainly will not heat up.

I use Moshi protection case.

is this this one?

I used an UNIQ one but it did lift up the lids a little, and it doesn't scratch the surface of the macbook when you removed the case because of those things trying to clip onto the macbook pro. ohmy.gif

Compared to Uniq which is quite available here locally, are Moshi really that more superior?

Question: I connect my macbook pro to my external monitor a lot via USB-C. Only thing is that it will charge my Macbook Pro all the time, which is not favourable to the battery i think. Is there any workaround for this?

Mac has smart charging .. so u can leave it as it is ..

I always use it clamshell mode due to space restriction .. in order to do that I have to have it charged.

Hi guys, just got one new unit MacBook Pro M2 Pro 12 core 16GB RAM 1TB from TMT Lowyat with very reasonable price (RM7999)

Currently surveying hub that can put one M.2 NVME SSD and have ports functionality as well, then look onto this hub: PEPPER JOBS TCH-7M2UD.

Does anyone here got use with it? Or do anyone here got better suggestions?

14 inch MBP?

I would personally use a separate NVME enclosure as they can get pretty hot. In my opinion the heat will eventually affect the whole hub.

Yeap 14 inch MBP

16 Inch one weight is too overkill for me

Okay currently I ordered one 20Gbps NVME enclosure now with fan cooling, let's see how it does after deliver to my house

Anyone else's M2 Pro battery draining faster than usual? My MBP used to be able to last 6-8 hours, but it's dying after around 4 hours with the same usage for the past months.
Battery health is still 95% with 92 cycles only...

Just to clarify, Mac only supports 40gbps TB4/TB3/USB4 or 10gbps USB3.1 Gen 2

U wont get 20gbps on Mac as it only works with PC USB 3.2 Gen 2 x 2,

Therefor, the 20gbps enlcosure speed using Mac it will be limited to 10gbps which is about 900++Mbps read/write but for me its more than enough speed.
