my last mac i bought was in 2013. i stopped using it only in 2018 because my workflow got too much for the poor thing. had to switch to a windows gaming laptop cause thats all i could afford and intel based macs were really crap. but my 2013 13" mbp still works great til today as a web browsing document editing media consumption device.

so i'd say you'll get 5-10 years good out of it. and remember to get applecare.

I finally went with the MBP 14", was waiting for the MBA15 (waited many months actually haha) and found that the 1K different is not worth to go for the 15" ones But really, it depends on what you gonna do with it. The MBP will be replacing my many years old Dell Latitude, it is mainly for my day-to-day programming tasks. I bought the base 16GB/512GB + apple care.

Just bought a 32" VA 4K BENQ monitor and regret it I couldn't really use it on 4K, 2K is good though. Going to 4K, the scaling is surely not good, all things become too small.

My MacBook Pro has never heated up before. What do you all use as protection though? I don’t bring my MacBook Pro out except for 1 trip, even then it stays in hotel all the time. I really wanna get a case that doesn’t lift up the screen or cause any scratches on it.

I used an UNIQ one but it did lift up the lids a little, and it doesn't scratch the surface of the macbook when you removed the case because of those things trying to clip onto the macbook pro. 

Compared to Uniq which is quite available here locally, are Moshi really that more superior?

I am underutilizing my macbook pro a lot. Only using it for surfing, watching shows and more surfing. Hahaha! I have been thinking to resell it but then... i am no audiophile, the speakers are damn good! Are there actually any mobile devices in the market that have such good speakers?

My current setup is I use my Marshall bluetooth speaker. Miles ahead of Macbook speaker.
