QUOTE(lindtra @ Jan 16 2023, 11:26 AM) From RM8 to RM10 as what i've been told by their operator after finding out why my Indah water bill has increased.. IWK should disconnect your house, let you handle ur self for RM45.Is this something reasonable for a sewage service to increase their price for that much of a sudden? RM2 may not seem that much, but my total bill gone from RM45 to RM60 - A ridiculous 33% increment for a service that nobody can opt out of. What kind of work do they do specifically that cause so much i must ask... When i asked what's the reason for increment, they just said because they haven't increased it in years... Is there any price regulation for this kind of thing? |

QUOTE(poweredbydiscuz @ Jan 16 2023, 11:34 AM) Every time you flush your toilet, wash your hands, take a bath, wash your clothes etc etc all the dirty water are treated so that it is safe for the environment. I don't think it's too much for RM10/month. Fun facts, the real cost of your IWK is the 1% KWSMP (contribution cost) developers paid during the construction of your pripertoes.Said your properties are worth 1M, you already paid RM10k of contribution cost for it. |

The increase is quite reasonable giving that the rate has not been revised for almost 30 years. Bare in mind IWK collects RM 8 last time irregardless how much shit is disposed from your house, bungalow, semi-Ds, condo all the same flat rate. Maintenance of all IWK equipment (just like your air filter/water filter) is always on the rise with our people mentality of throwing daipers, sanitary pad, condoms, tissue, cooking oil, solid food watste all into the floor trap and hope it will just disappear somewhere plus the awareness of people appreciating sewerage treatment is very poor in malaysia i would say... a very simple comparison u can take is how much is the cost u pay changing the car oil filter (just to filter oil) during maintenance versus how much we are paying for the sewerage treatment u will find how cheap it is in malaysia.... speaking from a industry with some relation to sewerage treatment yhtan and nomoredfox liked this post

RM2 per month increase also want to complain?
Install your own septic tank if you want to DIY, see how many years need ROI vs RM10/month. This post has been edited by keybearer: Feb 13 2023, 06:09 PM |

From 2022 RM8 per month to 2026 RM15 per month. |
