if any phone for rm600 really considering getting d cool2.gif
*
It is not for any phone. There is a list of devices that are acceptable for trade in when you apply for it.

If the device is too old, it won't be listed. The trade in process is:

1. Enter Zip Code
2. Select device type
3. Select manufacturer
4. Choose your device model from a list available
5. Enter the IMEI

The good thing is the list is quite extensive, just not so extensive that you can trade in any old device you have lying around.

the phone must be functional phone? i see the TNC macam say any condition also ok.
*
No the phone does not need to be functional. I traded in a S7 Edge that does not power on last time for S22. You get the RM 600 rebate + RM 5 for the device when they pick it up.

Listed price when it is non-functional on the website is RM 0.

Added: You need to be able to provide the IMEI at least for the trade in to proceed.

So phone that can on and functioning but screen cracked can get 600 eh?

It will be 600 plus the trade-in value stated in the website and this trade-in amount will be given when handing in the old phone at store?
*
Yes screen crack also acceptable.

The RM 600 rebate is instantly deducted from the final cost when you purchase from the website.

The remaining trade in amount is not received when handing in at the store. Someone will come to your location to check and collect the phone. Once they collect it, the trade in amount will be banked in to your account. They will send you a Whatsapp message ahead of time to schedule all these details.

Example S9+ is worth RM 140 for trade in value. If you proceed this is what you get:

S23 Ultra example:
5699 - 600 (Trade in rebate) - 200 (ROI Voucher) = 4899.

Is this applies to those trade-in program offers by Urban Republic or Harvey Norman? I means, are they the same process?
*
This one I am not sure. Back then when I tried to buy from Harvey Norman they did not have the RM 600 rebate for trade in, instead they had an offer where you can trade in up to 5 devices for a special amount that is similar to the additional RM 600 rebate.

I didn't proceed with that cause I don't have so many devices to trade in. Better check with them again as I am sure they will change their policy every now and then.

One more step you can use to reduce the price, if you use Samsung pay, the points accumulated can be used to offset the final price as well.

Each point is worth 0.03 cents. Since there's nothing good to redeem anyway, might as well spend it on this.

Saw this tricks work in s22 thread, not sure right now still works or not whistling.gif
*
This trick doesn't work anymore. Samsung has changed the process, you don't get a code for trade in with Instacash anymore.

The trade in is done directly on the Samsung website now. They will only send someone over to collect the device once you confirm. If you cancel, you don't get the RM 600 rebate.

the rm600 is deducted when you check out as long as ypu provide the IMEI number only the trade in value not given till collected
*
The problem is there is no option to cancel once you have committed to it. Believe me, I tried just a month ago with the S22.

The collection schedule of the old device is near instant, I did chat with the agent over Whatsapp to cancel the collection. They will inform Samsung to deduct the RM 600 rebate and you will have to pay the additional 600 if you choose to proceed with the cancellation.

For epp dont have that promo to click.

Okay, thanks for trying though. I thought Samsung decided to be a little more generous this time.

ROI voucher usually doesn't work with EPP or Edu purchases.

Means after you check out and pay the full amount, then decided to cancel the trade in, they will request u to pay additional rm600 before they deliver the phone?
*
Yes that was what I was told. I didn't try it though. Mine was pick up btw, so I can't escape.

QUOTE(joeblow @ Feb 2 2023, 12:49 PM)
Sorry guys, appreciate if you can help.

1. I read about codes available. So technically you can use birthday code (RM100) plus pre-event registration code (RM200) together to get rm300 discount?
2. If I trade my useless phone which I think is bloated screen (battery issue) but still can boot up, will I still get the RM600 trade in even though Samsung might not accept my phone in the end for trade in? Also for trade in need to include the default power charger?
*
1. You can only use 1 code at a time. Either the RM 200 ROI code or the birthday code, cannot combine.

2. There is a part in the trade in process where it will ask you the status of the device. I think you can still trade it in, just that the trade in value will be lower or 0 due to damage. You'll still be able to get the RM 600 rebate as long as it is one of the accepted models.

This is right at the absolute end before you pay. There will be an option to use your Samsung reward points.

is Samsung Care+ worth it?
*
If you are a clumsy or don't take care of your devices, it is a viable option. I say viable because repairs with Samsung Care+ is not free. You still have to pay a fee to fix it, albeit at a lower cost than what you'd pay without Care+.

And if I am not mistaken, there is a limit to how many times they will fix it for you at that cost. Read the T&C for this service thoroughly before proceeding. It's not so "worry free" as a lot have described.

does anyone know how the trade in works? cause my postcode is not eligible so I plan to ask my friend in kl. is there a time limit and can choose walk in or pickup at a different address from my shipping address?
*
Yes you can arrange it to be done somewhere else, thats fine. Once you have confirmed the trade in, someone will contact you through Whatsapp to get the pick up address as well as preferred date for the collection. I don't think there is a walk in option, or at least was not available a month ago.

I delayed my pickup for about 1 week as I wasn't around. Note that they won't just come and take then leave. They will run some tests and inspections to finalize the amount you will get for the trade in value so please schedule it appropriately.

So it's not guaranteed to be RM600?
*
If your device is listed on the trade in, you're guaranteed AT LEAST RM 600 rebate. <-- this is not the trade in value of the device. Its just a bonus Samsung is giving for trade in.

Trade in value is the actual value that Samsung deems is worthy of your device.

So in total, it is RM 600 + Trade in Value. Trade in value is not offset at the check out when you purchase. You will get this when they collect your device.

*
Don't think so. If you try to add another, it will replace the first device you added for trade in.

Can try doing it at the Samsung shop or their partners though.

Meaning to say I am require to go onsite?
*
Yes but don't take my word for it. Last time there was such a promo that authorized retailers and experience stores will accept multiple device trade in.

For reference on the T&C last time:
https://images.samsung.com/is/content/samsu...n_TnC_Aug22.pdf

The above T&C has expired already but it was an option last time.

Edited: I stand corrected, looks like it is still a thing. Here's the latest T&C for trade in.

Multiple device is available even on Samsung online stores:
https://images.samsung.com/is/content/samsu...nC_1-1-2023.pdf

I can't figure out how to do it though.
