my fren send me his purchase from shopee, is this a good price to get a s23 128gb? feel like pulling the trigger to upgrade my s10e

Yes thats a good price for the S23 128GB.

But do be informed that the Samsung OS is significantly bigger than most of it's competitors. You'll have about 60 to 70GB of storage available to use right out of the box.

If you're the type of user who likes to load up on media files, this might be a point of consideration.

wait fr only 60gb left after system files?
*
You can read about it here but the gist of it is that after the storage conversions and system files, you're left with about 60 to 70% of remaining storage.

Samsung's OS is already pretty big to begin with so there's that too.

Not to mention that Samsung flagships consistently get monthly updates and they will receive major OS updates for the next 4 years or so, 128GB is really not enough if you plan to use it until it is no longer supported.

iOS is very space efficient compared to Android. If you're just going use it for basic tasks and rely on streaming services for media consumption, you'll be okay with 128 GB.

It's only a problem if you wanna carry your jav and music around or take a lot of videos. The pictures won't fill up your storage so easily.

if like this do you think the 256gb variant price will drop to similar level as current 128gb variant? because i dont think i can justify paying extra 1.5k++ just to get 256gb..
no cloud
*
Maybe not. I'm waiting for that kind of price for the 256 GB as well but I really don't think it will happen this year or next year. Might as well get the S23+ for that price.

Why can't phone manufacturers start with 256GB as a base model for flagship devices similar to all mid range phones nowadays. Kinda drawback having to pay quite a hefty amount for a flagship and even need to top up extra for the extra space.  dry.gif
*
They can but they probably didn't want to this time. The S23 128GB was never meant to sell well to begin with. S23 sales started with a free storage upgrade, free S23 128 GB with Galaxy Note trade in and they're using the previous generation storage for the 128 GB model.

This is probably why its going for such a low price now, it is hard to sell and the limited storage space is a major factor for a phone that will be supported for many years, having good pic/video taking capabilities.

It feels like this model is gimped on purpose just to promote the higher end ones.

Reliable?

I've bought from them before but not the S23.

Last purchase was years ago for the A50 and S21, didn't have any issues with them but they'll unseal to register warranty whatever the heck that means.

256GB S23 Plus boss. There is no 128GB for the S23 Plus.

i only able to find below comment stating 60-70gb out from box. If usable around 100gb then it's good.
*
Here let me help you, someone here purchased a 128 S23, after setup, left about 80 GB. Screenshot attached.

There's no way there will be 100 GB available for a 128 GB device. You lose about 10 GB after conversion and Samsung's OneUI is quite large.

Bit I've read reviews where buyers said their warranty activated earlier than purchase date. I mean, if the sellers opened the box to get the IMEI sticker, why would they need to power on and presumably connect to WiFi?
*
I don't think the warranty is dependent on the device being powered on. It can be registered on the website by uploading a copy of the receipt.

Once you do that, the date will match the warranty status when you check it on the device.

Oh, no I didnt...will that help for cooling down the phone? But I didn't see this option in Game Booster...
*
No this option will make it heat up considerably. I just thought you turned it on by accident.

The option is in Game booster > Game booster settings > Labs

I didn't turn on but is it recommended to turn it on?
I only play music game and pokemon go only, phone didn't feel hot laugh.gif
*
No it is not necessary. It used to be called Game Optimization Service which lowers performance when gaming to control the temperature.

If you turn this on, you'll get max performance for your games in exchange for very high temperatures on your phone while gaming.

I once hit 52c on my S21 while playing Nikke with this turned on. Never again.

just got the phone recently, coming from S8 here and it's a great phone biggrin.gif
Just wondering why the Power Button + Volume Up button wont boot into recovery mode like my S8 used to do? I want to wipe cache partition after every update like I used to do but cannot, it just boot normally sad.gif
*
You need to connect the phone through a USB cable to a computer then you can boot into the cache partition.

Alternatively if you have some kind of USB C accessory you can do it without a computer. I tried on my device it works with the Samsung USB-C headset.

My s23u 512gb order from shopee was reported lost by J&T today. bye.gif
Refund has been initiated and I had to wait for case officer to investigate this matter. This has caused me so much inconvenience.
I couldn't purchase back with the same deal anymore.
*
If you're lucky, like really really really lucky, you might receive the phone even after you're refunded.

I've had things arrive after I received the refund from Shopee but nothing as expensive as a phone before.

based on experience, price will drop after new launch , right?

i am thinking to get 1 samsung s23 ultra, looking for a good opportunity to buy
*
Not for authorized distributors or Samsung official.

You'll have to keep an eye out for good deals on Shopee and ladada if you want to grab it at a good price.

But they will open box for warranty things as per mentioned.

Still trying to hunt S23 normal edition 256GB
*
Those that will open the boxes are usually not official distributors on Lazada and Shopee.

You can try to wait for shops like Sen Heng or Samsung Official to have offers, I think these guys won't open box for warranty stuff. You have to be fast though, these 2 shops so far I noticed their offer comes in the form of a voucher code.

Gotta say though, I don't think I have ever seen S23 256 GB on any offer from these official channels. It is usually S23 128GB or S23 Ultra 256 GB.
