Addon:

check the manufactured date from the back of the phone.

a new set / ap set shouldn't be too far away. the further it is, the higher the chance it is a recond set, very old stock or problematic set that is not sold.

go into the phone deeply, go through each folders and files, search for any trace that indicate it has been used before, address book, call time, sms inbox outbox, pictures etc etc. some seller is careless enough to leave these traces when they sell a recond set.

last but not least, specifically for SE, key in the sequence as said by sasaug above. there is a test menu to test most of the hardware of the phone (mic, vibration, flash light, camera, keypad etc etc).

more to come.

then further check by key-in *#06# (this code works in all brands) to make sure it is same as the one written on the sticker.

it is written on the box as well, though imei on phone might not match imei on box for ap set.

Erm regarding the SIRIM sticker, don't put that much stock in it. I've seen this shop in LY before that have the stickers by the score and they were sticking it onto their fake batteries. So yeah. What you see is not necessarily what you get laugh.gif

Also try transferring data from the memory card to phone memory. Try to fill up the phone memory and copy back to the memory card. Phone's memory might be corrupted.

Also check the Original, AP Set & Water Set thread. A lot of informative stuff there smile.gif

Hey jtc, it would be great if you could compile everything into the first post. Makes reading easier smile.gif

P/S : I know is just similar like the Original, AP Set & Water Set thread. Please don't be mistaken about i want to spam at here. My thread is just show up the step for those buyer planning to purchase the mobile device as a guide on it. Moderators can be close it up if you want to do so.

some additional info if you guys dont mind.

As for the warranty sticker, please take note if you are planning to buy new phone especially, there shouldn't be two different sticker on the same spot. if so, most likely it is refurbished and sell as new.

recon set is the hardest to find its flaw, because some of them are just in their best condition. But people tends to make mistakes, so check on the call registry, memory and settings. If the seller giving excuses, ask for another same set and compare. If not, try looking at the sides and gaps, if there is some dust there, possibility of recon set is high.

this is my experience during my job as phone seller in a retail shop. wink.gif

IMEI is like serial number for a phone.

it is usual that for most ap sets, imei on/in phone doesnt match the one on the box.
