Vivo X90 pro plus sets the bar for 2023 flagship

Specifications:-

https://m.gsmarena.com/vivo_x90_pro%2b-ampp-11979.php

Comparison with iPhone 14 pro max and Samsung S22 Ultra

Price: RM4648 12/256 CN set online seller.

Most worrying is 5G compatibility with Malaysian Telcos. I understand that Vivo releases new firmware very fast. But will it also include Malaysian 5G telco needed firmware upgrades ?

I heard that only the mtk version x90 and x90 pro will come

X90P+ most likely china only, but fortunately band support is more than enough for our 5g support (unlike xiaomi cn model)
*
Interesting. Where is the reference mentioning that it has sufficient band support for Malaysia ? Unless someone has already tried it .....

Try and use the built in camera in Instagram  or FB. Android videos will always look crap if taken using the built in cam on Insta. On iphone, it looks the best.

Did you watch the review on the 3 phones ( Vivo X90 pro+, iPhone pro max, Samsung S22 Ultra ) which I quoted?

The reviewer says for video quality, iPhone did not do well in low light, but Vivo wins on video but
did not do well on the microphone .....

Any setting I should be aware of?

Yes if upload from gallery is fine. I am talking about directly recording using the built in camera. It always ends up blurry. Basically the apps are not optimized for android tnot matter how good the hardware
*
Android has to support a variety of hardware, likely a generic API could not utilize the maximum hardware capability of the phone.

Android should come out with a set of API which allows programmer to utilise the maximum capability of the hardware, and I read that Android 13 is addressing this issue. In the mean time use the vendor provide camera app is the best workaround.

This phone should be around rm4599. Previous x80 pro also same price right ?
*
The cheapest I found is rm4531 12/256 and rm4636 12/512.

It is so much cheaper than other sellers, other sellers are selling around rm5359 for 12/256 and rm5499 for 12/512.

Wonder why such a big gap.

Wow. Why nowadays flagship even China brands so expensive ? I still remember my first flagship Samsung Note4 only rm2499.
*
I am confused.

This fast tech lim price on Vivo X90 pro plus on Lazada is the one who sells it as rm4531 for 12/256 and rm4636 for 12/512.

You mean the price indicated on Lazada is not net ? The buyers have to add 4.22% on top subsequently ?

This fast tech Lim got mark up price in lazada claiming when using the platform seller have to pay commission to them. The price listed in lazada already marked up.

Lol off topic probably I think too much. This fastech Lim I notice got some account keep doing a promotion for it. Last time I saw someone hardcore promote the store is in moto sub topic.

If u are confident in the seller can straight buy direct otherwise better through platform. So far I feel lazada is very friendly to consumer especially when there are any issue arise.
*
But the marked price from fast tech lim is only marginally higher by about rm 200 from Daobao, and it is so much cheaper than other sellers ( difference by one thousand ! )

Yes. Most probably you're right. Lazada got take commission
*
If one buys from Lazada or Shopee, the payment should be net. Unless the sellers cancel your order, and ask you to pay him directly via bank account.

Camera comparison :-

xiaomi 13 pro vs Huawei Mate 50 pro vs vivo X90 pro+

Xiaomi 13 pro is falling out in this comparison. Xiaomi need to quickly release a new ROM to catch up.

I do find a lot review said x90 pro did better than fruit in still image but video recording still fruit better.

The only problem with this device is the pricing. If I remember correct x80 pro are launched around 4.9k++. I think x90 pro might be around that price or more expensive.

With such a pricing sure a lot consumer will say why not top up to get fruit. Somemore fruit are mostly offered with 0% interest free up to three years depending on credit card.

Anyhow the phone spec and performance seem nothing to complaint about. If budget is not an issue, this might be a good option.
*
Firstly, the X90 pro and X90 pro plus are VERY different phones. Your above keep referring to X90 pro, but I am referring to X90 pro plus. This thread is exclusively about pro+.

Secondly, iPhone video recording is not always better. Please show me a review which says that. Or talking about front camera only ? Front camera of china android phones seem stucked in a curse of 1080p. Cannot do 4k, what a shame !

When people say iPhone recording is better, they are referring to limitations of the Android apps such as Instagram. That is not a fair comparison.

Thirdly, X90 pro plus China set is already selling at around rm45xx , or you brave enough to take direct trading, it is Rm43xx ( rm 45xx minus Lazada platform fees ).

4.9k++, is it referring to the price if it ever launched in Malaysia? I think pro plus will not be launched in Malaysia.

Ya the 4.9 I am referring to the possible price of x90 pro and not the pro+ since it is most likely not gonna launch here. No matter how, if pro plus not gonna officially launch here then the volume here will be very small.

The price for CN phone is lower than MY official set is because they manufacture there and no need go through sirim, import tax etc etc.

Like it or not whether the phone itself is good or not not really relevant if official set not available. For consumer they will think why I buy a CN set then without any after sales service.

It's a fact that buying CN set is harder to claim warranty or go for repair whenever there are issues with the device and that's why people don't like CN set. If during one year warranty provided by seller then still ok but the whole process might take a month just send to CN and back to Malaysia.

If after warranty period and any issues arise, then it will be difficult to send it to CN to repair as it involve shipping cost this and that. Even if someone want to repair locally also hard because no shop will order part for a low volume device. Even if they willing to do it then the charges will be very high.

Unless planning to change phone every year whenever warranty expired otherwise better think twice before going for CN set. Ask back yourself is it the saving worth the potential problem. Of course there are a lot of CN set user that are lucky and use few year also no issues but there are also those buying CN set and face a lot of problem.

I wonder why there are still a lot of sub forum trying to promote CN set, if saying about pixel then is understandable cos the base is much more bigger. Why go for CN set there are other similar alternative 😅
*
Haha lucky there is already a pixel 7 thread, in there I found that people are saying that to get 5g, one needs to root the phone and then many other root sensitive apps will start to fail. In that case, pixel 7 or 7 pro is not worth it. Pixel 7 is a big "No".

It is said that your order can be delivered to your house sealed in original packaging.

The seller sells many other China phone devices.

Don't just look at Shopee. Some sellers are more active in other accounts than Shopee. 😃

Scroll up. There is a seller more active in Lazada selling at least RM500 cheaper in Lazada. He has also shopee account, but his Shopee account seems to be "on vacation". smile.gif

Fastechlim is it ? Safe to bank in his bank account ? Warranty how ?
*
The seller did not force you to bank directly into his bank account, he has 97% rating for just selling on lazada platform.

Bank if to him directly enjoy 4.22 % further reduction in price ( around rm190 price reduction), but do it only if you are comfortable.

1 year warranty is according to his WORDS. That is the more or less the same with all China phone set, right ? I don't think other China phone sellers can do it better.

I more interested in gambling samsung snapdragon sets pre-s22 years than shipping in Chinese phone laugh.gif laugh.gif

Don't get you. Why you use the word "gambling" ?

Because there is high risk in using a shipped in Chinese phone compared to a used pre-s22 Samsung phone ?
