yup that is normal
 its just the plastic tracks and the support ring sliding against each other it doesnt affect performance btw, never drop ur powerball ya its a precision instrument |

The sound will go away eventually once the plastic tracks is abit more worn. in its 'setting in' stage the sound usually will appear so dont worry
in future if u want replacement parts, just request for the parts via email/parts request page. link is in the first post of this thread =D the steps are all there |
