 Sony WF-1000XM4 Battery replacement, Anyone done this in Sony Service Center?

Just DIY change battery for my XM3 and XM4 lately. XM3 is easy to pry open. XM4 need a heat gun to loossen the glue. I think the earbuds can last for few years like the wired headset if we can change the battery ourselves.

Latest: in case you wish to upgrade to xm5, just go to service centre and surrender your xm4 & pay 799 to get it upgrade to xm5

Very steep top up amount. sweat.gif I paid for a brand new pair of xm5 for RM899 during one of those x.x. sale.

Actually if you willing spent Rm50...you can get it done...u need buy 1 mini wise Clamp + heat gun...then you can done your work very easy..battery wise below rm100

I just googled the battery for XM4. Wow it looks like a watch battery, but rechargeable.

Easy job.. 10mins can settle 1 side. Most time consuming on opening up earbud.. after that, it is easy like playing Lego..

guess I'm the latest to join the fast batt drain for the right bud, bought in 2022, light user, only noticed recently right bud batt is draining a lot more faster than left

live chat with local Sony agent, said no such service as free replacement, no memo no nothing from Sony M'sia, advised me to send in to nearest service center for diagnosis, which I'll need to pay min RM40+ for that service... damn...

Anyone still managed to get theirs claimed foc?

Just wanna ask, is the latest firmware update for xm4 stable? I just changed my battery not sure should I downgrade the firmware or update to the latest.
