rclxms.gif Thats pretty fast. I still stuck in between 1 and 2 minutes.
Any one have idea to get others cubes?
I now have 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, 5x5, 6x6 and 7x7, master pyramorphinx, pyraminx, megaminx, square 1, bump cube and shudoku cube only.
*
That's quite a complete collection already.....

If you want, you can try to get something quite different from those cube puzzles, like Rubik's Magic, Rubik's 360.....Rubik's Snake.....
Or Rubik's Mirror also.....

Just buy it from Toy's R' Us..
They're a little bit pricey though.. around RM27
but think its worth it..
I'm still a noob in cubing.. My personal best was around 5 minutes..
Gonna practise a little more  rclxm9.gif

Btw, I checked out the Rubik's Magic.. Looks kinda cool..
Does anyone has any idea of how that thing works?
*
Not recommended to buy Rubik's brand 3x3x3 cube......
Expensive.....but doesn't turn smoothly......

Some cheaper cubes turns much smoother than Rubik's brand......

About Rubik's Magic, it's kinda like flipping around.....
You solve it by flipping the Rubik's Magic from the image of 3 separate rings into 3 interconnected rings........

where to buy rubik cube 3x3x3  in LYN,
high quality can get rm10?
*
Here you go:
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=788013

I suggest you spend at least RM15 to get a good quality 1......
RM10 you can get 1 which turns quite smoothly.........but the quality would be a bit low......

hi, want to start play, and still not have any cube, thinking of getting 3x3. but dunno which is better, painted ver. or normal (with stickers rite?) can tell me the difference? sorry kinda noob here
*
Either sticker or painted, doesn't really matter.......the most important is the quality of the cube itself......

You might wanna choose those which turns smoothly, and the pieces won't come out easily.....

Another thing is, price does matters......

Rubik's brand sold in Toys R Us is not recommended........
And those RM3-5 cubes are not recommended as well.....

Those which ranges from RM10-15 would be more than enough already for a beginner........

Does anyone knows how to solve a Square-1???

I mean, I've found the solution guide......
But it's full of algorithms........

So, I would like to know whether there's any easier solutions.....
Like solving the 3x3x3 using the beginner's method without having to memorise up to 100 algorithms......

Hmm, last time I checked Rubik's original is cost RM24 something at TRU and those DIY is RM 36 at garage sales thread excluding shipping. How come?  unsure.gif
*
The price at TRU always changes.......

Rm25, RM30, RM35.......keep on changing between those range......

I don't recommend Rubik's brand cubes by the way, more expensive, and yet turns more stiff compared to some cheaper brands......

Wow ~ Seems like many people are going there.I would never ever be able to go there ~><
*
Why??? Staying too far from the venue???

By the way, I will have to learn the advanced method before going to the competition, or else I'll end up at last place......lol.......
And does anyone knows of the best website or video that to learn all the algorithms??? It's up to 100s of them, and I would need a better guide to learn them........

Here's an advice,
be more focus on the method that you are using currently, train hard to achieve the best performance you can get.

This is way more effective than learning new ways and new algorithms that you won't be having enough time to, not to say master, not even get familiar with them. This will actually affect your performance and drag you down even further.

Of course, this is for preparation for the competition that is like just one month away from now. You can always learn more after the competition and improve your time.
*
With the beginner's method, I can only average 40 seconds plus.......with this time I can be around the last place.....
And I've been using this method since I 1st learn it on September 2008........
So can say that I've already mastered this method......

So, gotta learn new algorithms to be faster......

IF u are NOT using 2-Look OLL and PLL , i suggest u learn to learn that , if u r using it now u can skip this step.
2-Look OLL
2-Look PLL
**** DO NOT see these pages if u havent learn 2-Look OLL and PLL !!!
IF u REALLY want to become faster go to OLL page and PLL page to learn fridrich method .I think PLL will be enuf because time is not enough for u to learn full OLL.There will be 21 algorithms in Fridrich PLL and 57 algorithms in Fridrich OLL.
And prepare a good and smooth cube biggrin.gif What cube are u using anyway?

Lastly and the most important be CALM !!!!!
But still i agree with fireace123...
*
Thanks for the links.......

I'm using those glow in dark cube........might not be the smoothest cube......but I'm satisfied with it......

i play also, but still at 1minute record, cannot go below there sweat.gif

any tips?
*
Get a smoother cube, develope your finger tricks........

Learn the advanced method if possible......

But beginner's method is good enough to average under 1 minute if you're fast enough.......

bought the original rubiks cube, then ask my fren to spray silicon something i dunno the detail, quite smooth rite now.

advanced method? got other method ka? sweat.gif
*
I don't really recommend the Rubik's brand cube, but since your friend lubricated for you, and you said it's smooth already, so I think it's fine........

Advanced method, yar, lots and lots of algorithms to memorize........
You can refer to a few posts earlier about the advanced methods......OLL and PLL......

anyone can help me with 4X4? i can only do one layer =.=

i know the right method is find the correct positions of the middle 4blocks first right? that alone killed me sad.gif
*
Solve the centers 1st, then edge pairing, then solve it like 3x3x3.......

Anyway, you can try to search around Youtube and see.......

For the silicon lubricant i recommend the CRC Heavy Duty Silicone Or the one from Ace ...DO NOT use WD-40 ( which is for metal NOT plastic ) and vaseline a.k.a petroluem jelly ( it SUX so MUCH that i ended up cleaning my whole cube and it spoiled my DianSheng )
I HIGHLY recommend to learn 2-Look OLL and 2-Look PLL BEFORE proceeding to FULL OLL and PLL...
*
By the way, where can we find the silicon lubricant??? Any shops and their location???
