i just got my hedgehog! smile.gif

so i left it in a cage with a lid over it. It was sleeping when he got home so i thought ok la keave the lid lightly on.

...then i go shop for the togoyo box(its huge!) + wheel + wood shaving etc. Then when i got home, the lid is open! my room door is busted and he's gone! The great escape!

So i looked all over and he's downstairs. I live in one of those houses that have holes between staircases...so i really wonder if he fell all the way down from first floor (gulp). Or he's smart enough to walk all the steps? Luckily he looks ok and active. I cought him with the carpet and put him back inside his cage.

After i caught him i think he's pissed ... he huff and puff go drink water and go hide in corner again. I will pretend to watch naruto and see if he escape again...and this time i am gonna keep my room door locked!

So did you check for mites? Anyway, congrats on your new hedgie.

Well, how tall is your box? Hedgehogs can be escape artist.... so is best to leave the room door closed or purchase a puppy playpen fence to block your door.

I think he feel through the staircase openings lah. Do check all his limbs, hedgies can hide fractures quite well.

Hahaha.... yah, very anxious loh.

I give her an old tshirt.... it is inside her hidebox now... but when I put tissue, she will carry or push the tissue into her water bowl.... so means not nesting yet I think.

Now I quite happy she litter train, really so easy to keep her now heheheh.

that bugger is only adventurous when i am not around! now pretend sleep again...i know he moved earlier caused i put the cat food around the cage and now all gone! (he's fat!)

btw the female got bitten so the seller not selling. He seems like a ok decent guy la smile.gif. No mites so far i can see. I can't see his leg cause he always curl. but i saw him scampering to storeroom quite fast earlier so should be ok!

This box is knee high so i wanna see how he jump haha. I won't even bother closing the box(but will close room door!). Prison break!

Wow ur hedgie is litter trained...very nice. but sometimes i wonder why this animals so stupid put all stuff in water(my sis hamsters too). When thirsty then drink what? haha

stupidity make them look cute laugh.gif
anyway maybe they have their reason which we'll never understand unsure.gif

my Vixie always sleep underneath the wheel, never sleep in the hide box except for the first few days...
i think i understand why- coz my housemates always remove the hide box and look at her while she's sleeping sweat.gif
that's why now she clever already sleep under the wheel with one leg hang on the metal stand sometimes sweat.gif sweat.gif

Wa nice DIY wheel Ryo, but how you screw the wheel and the stand? is it with roller there ???? ( I can't find the small roller .... )
Maybe you try remove the sleeping box and see is it will step on it ? ( Midnight or do this will better, because is hedgehog enjoy play time biggrin.gif )

I use electric drill to drill the hole, plan to use roller with bearing at first, but couldn't find a suitable one, so I just use screw lo, it still spin, lolz... Any idea where to find a suitable roller? Need inputs from you guys to enhance the wheel, lolz laugh.gif
