No

Don't want to mention name as that was way back in 2018 . Don't know how is their service now. So don't want to mention it
But anyway I ended up buying rpha70 at nsk.

I was eyeing on this helmet previously. Same design.
But many reviews say that this helmet is noisy.

Its quieter than my modular helmet  laugh.gif
Sure still got wind noise, I think thats unavoidable when riding naked bike
Don't know how other full face helmet would be quieter or not
*
I took the hjc rpha70 instead. Quiet helmet.

QUOTE(vavisalai @ Dec 30 2023, 04:44 PM)
Hello to all the sifus,

I have some questions regarding riding bike gears. I am planning to ride to work everyday with a one way distance of 10km to my office. My budget is around Rm 3000 (around 862 sgd). The main thing for me is I want to separate work and leisure gears (if it’s possible two sets).

I am looking to get 2 helmets (1 for work & 1 for leisure), one riding jacket (was thinking to wear the jacket for work commute and buying those knee and elbow guard for leisure ride OR get another riding jacket if budget permits) and gloves.
* the main thing is I want to have two sets of gears

Questions are
1. Can an armoured jacket fold and stored together with a Modular helmet into a 46L top box?
2. Let say I’m getting a mesh jacket, do I still need to buy a rain jacket?
3. Is knee & elbow guard protective when I’m wearing shorts and T-shirt?
4. Should I get all the gears in Malaysia or Singapore?
5. Last but not least, any recommendations with the budget above and place to get it? (Yes I’m trying to get spoon fed by you all)
6. One more thing, Vespa 150 vs Yamaha X Max 300 vs Honda Forza 350? Leaning towards Vespa due to the brand but in reality practically comes first 🙃

Thank you.
*
In case you think short distance ride is safe and do not need to wear safety gears.
Just last week my neighbour rode to nearby shops for lunch.
Crashed.
Fracture his elbow.
Hairline crack on his kneecap
Big road rash on his arm and palm

Why? Just as many thinks. Aiyahhh. Ride short distance only. Nothing will happen. No need wear safety gears.

Good thing was he was wearing a fulllface. If not his jaw will kena too.

My advice to you. Ride to work or leisure.
Atgatt. Including the knee shin guards.

Don’t need to slide
Any contact between skin or t shirt or normal fabric against tarmac also you’ll lose some skin.

Slide = more skin loss

Knee
Palm
Elbow
Shoulders

= high impact points.

Just a funny question. For raining days, does it work if I can get those long raincoat without pants (like those seen with traffic police)? Does it affect riding?
*
Poncho type ?

Don't. It's dangerous.

New riders, take note above.

This can't be stressed enough.

Also to note. New helmets should be unusually tight. As long as the new helmet doesn't cause pain or discomfort from hotspots/pressure point, which are usually due to the helmet shape not fitting your head, all the pads should be tight.

Many newer riders end up with helmets 1 size too large. Then realise the helmet is too loose after a few weeks of use.

and to new riders
remember to ATGATT.

Reminder to all (and myself) to never EVER forget your gear.. and ride safely. I would've ended up losing some of my skins if not for these protection.
Glad that you were all geared up

Whenever i get teased because I'm ATGATT,
I always say that it's better to sweat than to bleed (or broken bones).

Get well soon.

the rear shock isnt that bad, good enough for my weight.

Yes I was leaning in initially, mid corner I realize not gonna make it then trying to compensate by leaning further.. ended up lowsiding.

Leaning to the right has been my weak side also

Could've ended up worse where I'm crashing into the barrier and ended up getting launched into ladang kelapa sawit laugh.gif

What tyres you using ?
Just for my record . Lol

I remember seeing the rear brake pedal bent. How is it now?

Noted on pirelli angel .

Make sure the pedal is not weakened.
If not just change it.

Nothing wrong with the tires, from his own description he ran out of lean angle and low sided the corner, not because the tire lost grip.
*
I know
Kacau him only
This tyre was one of the tyre in my list... but I ended up getting Bridgestone t32 .

don't force it, but maybe can adjust some technique to adapt to the tyre
*
Check tyre pressure as well.

I know one rider never check tyre air pressure for 4 months until he sees the tyre on low pressure ( flatten), then only he will check.

thats sort of me.......  semalam found my front and backs at 12-15bar, only checked cause i realize didnt check pressure for a loooong time. it looked totally round and fine, imagine the heart attack i got.
*
That's very low pressure

After you mount on your bike, I'm sure it will not be round anymore

sorry to hear about your mishap.
i have the same komine jacket. thin and airy mesh that i very much prefer to wear than other my thicker jacket.

thin but have padding at high impact areas. at least some protection is better than no protection

Can always upgrade the amour
