1) depends on your helmet size and jacket size and box shape.. Theoretically possible but likely tight fit even if possible.
2) yes. Unless you don't mind getting wet.
3) yes, but you will still lose skin in a slide
4)
5)
6) have you ridden all 3?

Don’t need to slide
Any contact between skin or t shirt or normal fabric against tarmac also you’ll lose some skin.

Slide = more skin loss

another helmet thats comparable, hjc c10, similar featureset, less colorful. if u like colors, then another option is bilmola.

I think HJC C10 is a new generation of helmet with ECE 22.06 certification. RRP starts at RM5xx. Safety on par with Arai Quantic and Shoei NXR2 yo!

The Shima design looks good, but looks loose (or you’re damn skinny). Make sure the fit is snug else protection won’t be there

create alot of wind noise when riding high speed.

now my head feel dizzy and my ear feel uneasy.

with budget below 400 currently aiming at KYT or LS2 but LS2 cutting really small even for XXL
which other brand are worth consider?

No helmet, no matter how expensive or premium can cut down wind noise enough to protect your hearing.

Get earplugs. 3M orange ones work very very well. Inexpensive as well.

Cheap and cheerful, can try LS2 brand. Be sure to try it in person for the right fit, it should be snug on the head. And get full face lah, if jatuh usually the chin goes first... a bit hard to eat KFC without lower jaw.

If one were to buy helmet overseas (in japan or indonesia) in person. Would the kastam disturb you when you bring back to Malaysia?

Some of my riding buddy would just throw away boxes and remove any product sticker/tag just to show to kastam that it is used item.

Noticed most helmet these day doesnt come with sirim sticker anymore. Would they use this reasoning to kacau me?

Reason, I dont really trust local helmet shop seller whose main goal is to sell and earn commission and its not their interest to provide best fitting helmet for the buyer.

Unless there is a multi-branded helmet shop that I can go and visit and try everything without pissing off the sales person when i walk out empty handed blink.gif

Saw Takong Racing and Durian Bikers were one of the few that carries multiple brand in store.

There this old otai shop at pertama complex (think called mercinda racing) seemed legit too but not sure if still hold true in 2025?

Also saw this link too https://www.bikesrepublic.com/english/archi...met-regulation/
Do you actually oil the glove with leather protectors? Just asking as a leather shoe user I do oil my shoe every 3 months.
Actually to give credit to local bike accessory stores..they have no issues with you trying the helmets on and walking out without a purchase. I've done this numerous times and they have always gave service with a smile. I think you need go give them more credit on this, provided you don't behave like a jacka55 lah. Nobody likes that.

But YOU will need to help yourself to find the perfect fit for you...nobody can help you with securing your noggin.

EDIT: Make sure you bring a clean full face mask lah to try helmets on.

I see, I did went to few shop recently to try some helmets. I did disclose to them I am cross shopping with other brands so wont be making any decision soon.
Managed to try some with hits and misses here and there.

Modular helmet looks nice but somewhat I feel more secured wearing a proper full face helmet. Not sure how to explain but I feel like something is missing wearing modular helmet even it was fully clipped on. I would assume if commuting to and fro work modular would be the better helmet since I am not doing crazy speeds. Not sure if otais here also had the same feeling? I guess some people use modular for daily while full face for weekend ride?

Wented to shop that sell both shoei and arai, somewhat both were fit-able to me but its a pity Arai does not have their pro fitting service here in Malaysia as the only annoying thing on my head is that the stock padding were in the way of my glasses temple which indirectly led most of the shop to push shoei more due to the PFS service. But unfortunately, most of them required me to fully commit to the helmet purchase before even doing the fitting service shocking.gif

I guess the only way to get arai fit is go overseas with our helmet purchased locally. That is if the shop even bother to layan us even after paying the fitting fee?

Of that few shop only one shop are quite obviously pushing me to buy on that day telling me the helmet is in limited stock due to raya peak period. Noticed that he keep trying to push me higher price helemet (plain coloured helmet vs graphic helmet) while another shop allowed me to try on those full carbon trackday style helmet shocking.gif

Need to continue sleep over it for sure.

I prefer full face helmet outright because
1. Of all styles, it gives the best protection
2. The chinbar won't have a chance of failing unlike modular

So you gotta ask yourself, someone is gonna jam something up your butt for your protection. It's either a. they jam it all the way and you get max possible protection, or b. they jam it halfway, put lube, and jam it up anyway, and you get a bit lesser than max possible protection.

I pick full face every single time. My hair is gonna be messed up anyway regardless modular or FF.
