I think that really depends on individual usage patterns.  For me, I came from OnePlus 7T and based on my daily usage, I usually will reach home after work with only about 20% left on my OnePlus but now with my P7, I'll still have about 50-60% juice left based on the same usage pattern.  I also understand that if you consume a lot of video streaming contents, then the battery will deplete faster, so it all boils down to individual usage patterns.

50-60% after reaching home after work?? That is good.

Do you have accu? Can share your "average battery usage"?

Hi guys,

Just got back from a work trip in Manila via Singapore and it's been a frustrating experience with my P7 Pro. Left Johor Bahru on
the 3-MAR morning and flew out from Singapore to Manila. I activated my 7 day ASEAN roaming pass on Maxis and and it won't
connect to Singtel's LTE network. The phone defaults back to their 3G/EDGE network but data remains offline despite repeatedly
trying to manually connect to their LTE network.

Arrived into Manila and the phone connects to Globe Telecoms but it's the same story again. It remains locked into Globe's 2G
network and it constantly loses the network and reconnects every now and then. Manual connection to Globe's LTE and even a
few attempts to connect on SMART's LTE network failed. Fortunately the Pixel carries my personal SIM and my DIGI work SIM
is on my OnePlus 7 which worked flawlessly in both countries.

Called up Maxis tech support and the only thing they could say was - Ooh's it's Pixel 7? Really problematic phone with loads of
issues. I politely reminded them that if the P7 series phone can work on these networks for their local customers, Maxis needs
to do better than just tell me it's a problematic phone. They have filed a case but it's been almost a week and nothing yet from
them. I am back in Malaysia now but with another trip planned to Manila and Bangkok in April, I need to get this issue resolved.
Has anyone faced similar issues as I am reading a few users facing this issue on REDDIT and other forums.

Could be Maxis' issue?

Used my P7 in Thailand with Digi data roaming in January 2023. LTE all the way. Logged into Digi's stipulated partner in Thailand, Dtac.

Exactly though they are conveniently blaming the phone. But it does seem to be a common issue when I read up the US forums. I will
be calling Maxis up tomorrow to see if they have a solution. I can imagine the phone having issues with the Philippines network but the
fact it won't even work in Singapore where the Pixels are officially sold and supported is just baffling.

It's possible that its maxis side. I was in Japan a few weeks ago, both my personal hotlink and japanese sim was on 4g. works well during my 10day stay. One small side note from end of last year when I visited Phuket with my pixel 6 pro, my ais sim was an epic speed demon. Lol.

I agree with the others, maxis problem
I used my P6 with yoodo in indonesia and without fail the roaming pass work flawlessly just it dont have 5g but all the time was on 4g.
i do use hotspot and still it work flawlessly.

Just before flying out need to buy the roaming pass and enable roaming at setting. Touchdown need to enable airplane mode on off or need to restart

my experience though and im on esim for yoodo

Ditched the ims method and changed my apn to unet instead and it worked like magic! Whatttt??? I have been trying to make vowifi working on p7pro since the phone launched. I feel like a dummy for not trying it sooner. Lol I guess unet fix a lot of problems lol.

Thanks for the heads-up for using unet instead of max4g as APN for Maxis
However, in airplane mode, it is still impossible to make calls right?

What I did to test VoWifi on maxis was to set mobile network preference to 3G and then try to make a call, and true enough it worked

It worked in airplane mode. Tried it twice. Worked perfectly. Vowifi truly is an underappreciated technology. Enjoy!

Thanks so much for all the input. My current APN is still Max4G and someone from Maxis called me earlier and suggested I should manually
set the APN for whichever network I am roaming on next. I told him that would mean at least 5 to 6 different APNS depending on where my
work takes me next. Absolutely frustrating but I have asked them to check at their end since I also had a another friend who confirmed he
was able to roam in Vietnam and Philippines on his P7 without any issues with Celcom.

Tested it again last night after my first wifi call...set to airplane mode and wifi calling works smile.gif

For those who are first timer here, in case you're still wondering about pixel 7 connectivity
VoLTE works out of the box
VoWifi works with minor modification without root
5G - can't test yet as Maxis doesn't have 5G

What is Group icons?

I find the swipe-down-to-see battery-percentage changed into how-long-battery-life-left annoying.

Wish Google would implement tap/ double-tap to sleep like many other Android OEMs.

May I know which one is it?

One high-rated called "Screen off - Widget & tile" not available to my P7 as it was made for older Android version laugh.gif

Some instances of what people are complaining about. 🥲

1. Google's Decision to increase the padding on the homescreen in this March update has me baffled 😂 like why?
2. device definitely feels snappier. Not a fan of the new padding added to the launcher though - not sure why the decision was made.
