QUOTE(Landmarkyap @ Jan 12 2023, 04:20 PM) Sg set do support 5g at 🇲🇾 network? As per my understanding, nope. The basic rule is this, regardless of where the phone comes from, 5G will only be available in those countries listed in Google's supported country list. For example, if you're in Malaysia (it's not in the supported list), you won't be getting 5G for now but if you travel to SG, you'll get 5G through roaming or local SIM.

QUOTE(Kagekiyo @ Jan 13 2023, 12:34 PM) Checking in with Maxis/Hotlink users - Does anyone noticed that they cannot use data despite VoLTE turned on by default for the Pixel 7 under Settings when simultaneously making a call? Example: Using MS Teams on video call and taking an incoming call at the same time. Did you get Maxis to provision VoLTE for you? You have to specifically get them to do it for you because it's not enabled by default even though you've turned on the VoLTE option on your phone. To do a simple test if VoLTE is working for you, make a call and at the same time browse the internet, if LTE is still shown on the status bar, then VoLTE has been enabled for you. QUOTE(Vanquish_08 @ Jan 23 2023, 11:23 AM) Hi guys, Just wondering if anyone here has had experience using after-market USB-C DAC-headphone amp dongles with your Pixel 7? I am referring to any decent audio dongles from iBasso, JCally, Hiby and Tempotec for wired audio listening as I am not much of a BT wireless headphones fan. Thanks much! Cheers, V. I can't comment much on these higher end dongles because I'm just using the cheap Ugreen ones without any issues so far.

QUOTE(Vanquish_08 @ Jan 23 2023, 12:53 PM) Thanks, bro! The Ugreen one is a pretty good one too. How is the wired audio quality overall? I'm not an audiophile but so far I've no complains about the wired audio quality as I'm using the SoundMagic E11 earphones, pretty solid.

QUOTE(boxee @ Feb 9 2023, 09:35 PM) sorry ya, i knida lost here. i am planning to get a pixel 7. doe sit support VoLTE for MAXIS, and how bout VoWIFI? VoLTE is supported with Maxis but not VoWIFI yet. However, once you get your P7, you may need to call up Maxis to provision VoLTE for you.

QUOTE(boxee @ Feb 9 2023, 09:42 PM) Thanks for clarification. do i still need to call because it was activated automatially with my galaxy s20 Since it's already activated, you'll probably get it out of the box. However, I'm not sure if the provisioning is device dependant. Anyway, just try it out and if it's not working for your P7, just give Maxis a call.

QUOTE(fkinmeng @ Feb 22 2023, 12:57 PM) currently using pixel 6, battery can't last that long, thought if pixel 7 better then can jump ship. I think that really depends on individual usage patterns. For me, I came from OnePlus 7T and based on my daily usage, I usually will reach home after work with only about 20% left on my OnePlus but now with my P7, I'll still have about 50-60% juice left based on the same usage pattern. I also understand that if you consume a lot of video streaming contents, then the battery will deplete faster, so it all boils down to individual usage patterns.

Just sharing, I'm currently in China and I was initially shocked that my Pixel couldn't get data roaming (I'm on Maxis with the 7-day pass) until I found out that the APN must be the one with unet and not the max4g one.
So if anyone comes to China and roams with Maxis, do take note to use the APN with unet.

QUOTE(Voonz @ May 28 2023, 09:17 PM) You're not the only one. I'm on maxis as well. Went to Perth for a 10 day trip. Could not get the roaming to activate for almost an hour, it kept connecting to the 2g network. In the end i decided to just purchase a traveller sim Make sure you're using the APN with unet instead of max4g. I had this issue also when I was in China last week, it kept connecting to the 2G network only until I changed the APN to unet and then it connected to 4G straightaway.

Just wondering if any of you are facing this issue. I'm on Maxis postpaid and after the April/May update, I realised that the LTE has been dropping intermittently, totally no data and will come back up a few seconds/minute later. At times, it will drop and come back a few times in a row within half an hour. I kinda feel that this is Maxis related because my 2nd SIM which is on Unifi doesn't have this issue. My Maxis is on eSIM btw. I'm lazy to talk to Maxis because they will always give me crap answers.

QUOTE(JkzsBlog @ May 31 2023, 05:18 PM) It’s not just you, a lot of people are getting this all over the world (even in Singapore for me, running dual SIM & both are affected too). I started getting it after the April update finished installing (still experiencing it till today). You can look this up on Reddit, fair share of people are complaining there too. There’s an official bug/issue raised on one of the Google Pixel main support websites/forum & I’ve personally reached out to support (had to provide them screenshot and logs too) as well. Google is not taking this issue seriously enough, if you asked me. So I highly doubt it’s a Maxis issue. Yah I've seen those posts in Reddit but it's weird nobody else in this forum is getting this issue apparently, you're the first to respond. I'm currently tweaking the APN and see if it's of any help, will monitor it for the next few days.

QUOTE(neurostrikers @ Jun 4 2023, 12:50 PM) I think the issue is with dual sim. I have Maxis on esim and unifi with physical sim. Intermittent dropouts occur for unifi, but has never happened on single sim maxis. Also tried single sim unifi, 0 dropouts as well. Not to mention 5g network performance is noticeably worse on dual sim. Thanks for the tips. I've disabled my unifi sim for now and will monitor to see if that's the cause for my maxis data dropouts.

QUOTE(cruzzmz @ Jun 4 2023, 03:28 PM) Odd if the issue is two sims .. do let us know what is the outcome Seems like there's some truth to this. I've disabled my unifi sim since noon and I've been running off my maxis esim, till now I haven't encountered any data dropouts. Thanks to neurostrikers for the tips. I'll continue monitoring it tomorrow and hopeful it'll hold up well, at least I can identify the root cause.

Ok just an update on the dual SIM issue particularly with Unifi SIM and Maxis eSIM together. Seems like Unifi is the culprit that caused my Maxis data dropouts. After 24 hours of disabling the Unifi SIM, there are totally no dropouts on my Maxis data. The moment I enable Unifi back, dropouts start to happen. For the time being, I've set my Unifi SIM to 3G only under Preferred Network Type and that seems to help, no dropouts on Maxis so far. Seems like it's the Unifi's transitioning from 4G to 3G or vice versa will cause the phone to reset it's mobile data signal, hence the dropouts on Maxis.

QUOTE(cruzzmz @ Jun 6 2023, 09:04 AM) Fyi there is no 3g network in MY anymore.. it will fall to 2g and go back to 4g. What do you use the Unifi for? Voice or data? Yup I know that there is no 3G already, I set that for Unifi SIM as a test to see if it will cause the dropout. It held on for quite a few hours but finally still happened, so that setting is useless too. Therefore for now, the only way to prevent my Maxis data dropouts is to disable the Unifi SIM. Hopefully the coming June QPR3 will solve this issue. Unifi is only used for my backup data in case certain areas have no Maxis coverage especially indoors.

QUOTE Any Celcom user here can report whether got 5G? I'm just wondering...if UMobile Pixel users (6 and above) can use 5G now, that means most probably Google was right previously that it's entirely up to the respective telcos to enable it. Especially if you look at the Carrier settings version, I believe this part is pushed by the telcos which enables 5G for example, which is why UMobile users are getting the 2023 version. I'm sure if Celcom/Digi/Yes/Unifi are willing to push out their latest Carrier settings, that will enable 5G too. Can't say much about Maxis since their 5G is still unavailable now. Just some random thoughts here.

QUOTE(petrofsky77 @ Jun 22 2023, 11:25 AM) But what I don't understand is, how come on the same telco within the same coverage area, non Pixel phones can get 5G connection, but Pixel can't? Means there has to be some codes embedded in Android in Pixel that does not allow the network to connect to 5G too. Correct me if I'm wrong. Apparently, the Carrier settings that enables 5G are not being pushed to Pixels. That means when the telco detects that it's a Pixel phone, they will not push the Carrier settings to the phone. If you look at UMobile, they pushed their latest Carrier settings version to the Pixels, which is why our friends here on UMobile are getting 5G signals now.
