it could be both since there are now reports that old phones got overheat when they are using some apps / phone call (iOS 17) ..

Apple has the option to lower the clock speed or fix the software bug (whichever is relevant or both)

but yeah you can wait for next phone if you're not confident

who knows if next year phone will be problem free 

every year iPhone's problem will be magnified/overblown cos of huge attention on Apple

finally my card got charged (apple store)
hopefully I can get RM50 rebate from my Amex

got a bit impatient and called Apple support to check my order.
their CS reminded me that the order should ship withtin 7-10 days, but its 11 days already still no movement and processing. He confirmed that bank already authorized the transaction just waiting for logistic in SG warehouse to generate the shipping label and he will follow up for me.

Hopefully what he says is accurate, he even accidentally said that "im sure you will receive the phone ON OR BEFORE 5 October" lol

Yup. Don't share. People can see your devices and if you accidentally enabled share location, people can see your location.

received invoice from apple this evening, ship date: 3 oct which is tomorrow but apple store there still showing 5 oct.

actually the carrier choose by apple is YAMATO TRANSPORT dont know why gdex is handle their shipment.

gdex tracking now says PJY Hub, like skipped Customs
hopefully can deliver today but apple still says delivers by 4th Oct
