I think leather cases are nice… if you take care of them…. hahaha…anyone viewing for leather cases? still cannot move on from real leather, apple leather case were so good, but now they have abolish them totally I used Nomad leather case with my 12 Pro Max previously and they tend to scratch very easily.. also, kenot kena water.. otherwise… very ugly… |

QUOTE(funny duck @ Sep 14 2023, 11:01 AM) Still considering between the pro and non pro model, does the usb 3 actually have a faster charging speed than the regular usb 2? Or just transfer speed difference? Only transfer speeds, charging speed should be no difference, if not mistaken. If you don’t need USB C, can consider a 14 Pro/Pro Max on discount now, I think it would be a better buy than the non-Pro 15… QUOTE(yarusaru @ Sep 14 2023, 11:06 AM) scratch is indeed a problem with soft leather case They do look nice after ageing, yes, hahaha.. I still have my Nomad leather case which I kept even though I sold the 12 Pro Max ages ago, hehe…but water not so problematic as you can dry them anyway leather case do intend to age, thus have the aged look, mostly due to moisture and wear. i like the feel, but for cheaper solution i always but 3rd party black silicone cases. so much easier to take care & maintain |

QUOTE(funny duck @ Sep 14 2023, 11:46 AM) Nah, the main reason I'm opting for my first iphone is because of the type c connector, even my iPad has type c, don't see the reason for me to have the lighting cable when everyone is moving forward with type c. Ah yes, if this is your first ever iPhone, then it makes sense. Go with the 15 Now I might be leaning towards the pro models but at the same time still feel like 15 is good enough... |

QUOTE(soitsuagain @ Sep 14 2023, 04:34 PM) I am thinking Apple MY will have some sort of installment once the first Apple store opens here in TRX. Anyway, the biggest benefit for us when we send in for repair is that we may hear no more of those stupid “oh we don’t how long it will takes but at least 2 weeks because we need to get the stocks from Singapore” The other benefits would hopefully be Apple Care+ instead of those expensive but ultimately useless third party protection programs and decent trade in the following year? Well, hopefully QUOTE(kiddokitt @ Sep 14 2023, 05:57 PM) If I’m not mistaken, we have to unpair our Apple Watch first from the old iPhone before pairing it to our new iPhone. If we don’t unpair first, the old iPhone still links to the Watch and we may not be able to pair another different Watch later on to the old iPhone. Correct, you have to unpair your Apple Watch otherwise it might need a reset to pair with the new phone. I think you’ll have to re-register your cards for Apple Pay when you switch phones or re-verify the CVC numbers. Can’t remember but it’s not too cumbersome a process…Does anyone have any idea about Apple Pay? I’m using HSBC card as the Apple Pay merchant. Should I unlink the app from old iPhone before setting it up again on new iPhone? Thanks! QUOTE(tzxsean @ Sep 14 2023, 08:33 PM) They will on pre-order day. QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 15 2023, 12:29 PM) Just wanted to weigh in on this SenQ/Senheng extended warranty. Long ago, when dinosaurs still roamed the earth, I bought myself a HTC Diamond from them (that shows my age). It went dead after 15 months and I brought it back to them to claim the extended warranty and I was told that after the manufacturer’s warranty has expired, their in-house techies will take a look at them. I’m guessing back then their techies are more well-versed in electrical appliances, coz I didn’t get my phone back till more than 2 months later. Since then, I’ve always seen their extended warranty as more gimmicky than anything. Still, it’s a nice to have if you’re a member or just paying RM12 to be a member is worth it.QUOTE(Lego Warfare @ Sep 15 2023, 12:31 PM) It's so cheap you can even order a few lol. I'd like to have the MagSafe ring option behind as well, but it doesn't look nice with transparent case so I couldn't be bothered. And I don't really use wireless charging much anyway. Actually the MagSafe ring in itself is a branding, haha.. I’ve seen cases for other phones with no MagSafe having that ring these days… so weird! Anyways, I will only get a MagSafe case now coz even though I don’t use wireless charging as much, I love how it mounts in the car securely and MagSafe car mounts are really sleek and less cumbersome than the traditional phone holders!name/logo displayed on the case QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Sep 15 2023, 04:48 PM) I suspect he’s just making conversation, hahaha. My wife would not touch anything other than a Pro Max. Besides, I’d argue it’s easier for them to carry it around if they are using a handbag. Men with skinny jeans on the other hand…QUOTE(soitsuagain @ Sep 16 2023, 07:28 AM) I hope you guys are on full alert at 12:00am. Get the 1st batch MY version. I hope this means the 15 Pro Max will have better battery life than its predecessor, but judging by the past trends, it should. Based on experience, 11 Pro Max and 13 Pro Max had very good battery life while XS Max, 12 Pro Max and 14 Pro Max battery life was pretty mediocre - well, at least for me. So 15 should be good! |

The 14 Pro Max couldn’t pass my 10-hour SOT test and so that’s how I know it’s not as great as my 13 Pro Max previously, hahaha. Anyways, are you getting the 15 Pro Max this round bro? QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Sep 17 2023, 11:32 PM) My Maxis Corporate Line Business Manager promised a unit because our contract is due for renewal already. So.... what the heck.... Nice! Our corporate line contract was just renewed early this year which was why I got a 14 Pro Max, which is now being used by my better half and I could sell off her personal one previously, hahaha… Anyways, I suspect the plans are going to be more expensive now that they will put “5G” into it… QUOTE(Piers @ Sep 18 2023, 08:29 AM) Hmm, I thought authorised resellers aren’t allowed to sell new accessories till the phone is officially available, i.e. when collected by countries in the first wave… |

QUOTE(N9484640 @ Sep 18 2023, 09:53 AM) so have you boys and girls decided where to buy from? I plan to get from maxis. Anyone else going the telco route?1. Apple website - probably the safest and fastest but you get nothing extra 2. Machines - RM250 rebate on accessories but need to use Easy Pay installments 3. Switch - RM250 rebate on accessories - installments 4. Seng Heng/SenQ - 1 extra year warranty but need to join membership 5. Shopee - can get 15,000 coins cash back but need to use ShopeePay not sure about other sellers, please add if you know. TIA |

QUOTE(meltan @ Sep 18 2023, 10:17 AM) Haha, yes, that be us QUOTE(willi_chs @ Sep 18 2023, 10:17 AM) Very same. Well, one thing is for sure, the plans are now more expensive… You no longer have MOP 98, 128, 158 and 188. They are now 79, 109, 139, 169 and 199 with 5G. Previously, at launch, they don’t let you buy an iPhone at launch with the MOP 98, minimum have to start with 128 so it’s safe to assume they will make the 139 the minimum now, and the phone subsidy will be around 1300-1400 at that plan so that’s a good guideline I guess.Just wondering how much device price if I choose normal 24 month contract - Maxis... IP15PM - 256GB |

QUOTE(Lego Warfare @ Sep 18 2023, 10:54 AM) Just cancelled my 128 contract since I had 2 months remaining. Chose the 79 contract since pre-order the contract you have to choose is higher than your current one so might as well choose the lowest now for more option. Ya I might do that too - I have a supplementary line so I’m effectively paying 128+48 = 176, and since you can’t get a supplementary line for the 79 plan, can just change it to 2 x 79 lines which works out to 158 which is cheaper As a note, the 79 contract offers everything the same plus 40gb 5g data more than the older 128 contract. So if anyone isn’t interested in iPhone pre-order contract plan, you get to save a lot just from downgrading your older plan while getting more data… Btw bro, how much was your penalty for terminating the contract? |

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Sep 18 2023, 11:39 AM) Not going to pay them Rm10 extra per month for the stupid 5G. Its supposed to be available for all subscribers. Ya, it’s a matter of milking the gullible fellas earlier first - I remember it was the same with 4G though that lasted for a very short period then it was free for all. Let’s see which telco makes the move first, but it definitely won’t be maxis.I think sooner or later they will have to let everyone get on the 5G network because that will reduce the dependancy on their existing 4G backbone. QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Sep 18 2023, 11:48 AM) The feel is nice, it fell like clothes. In actual look even better. The leather ones also scratched pretty easily. Anyways, it’s great that they wanna support the environment and all that, but there are a lot of folks who want leather and they will miss out on that opportunity. They’ll go to the likes of Belroy, Nomad, etc. now… But I read review, it was easier scratch. I only know after purchased. QUOTE(Lego Warfare @ Sep 18 2023, 11:52 AM) lol 2 x 79 makes so much more sense than even their 109 + 48 which comes out to be the same price... I did receive a call few days ago from Maxis about a supplementary 2 year promo of RM29 per month only, they should just make that price fixed since their RM48 with the new plan pricing is silly. Ok la, the penalty is not exorbitant. But yeah, that trade in makes no sense. It’s not like they let you offset the device prices right away. Sheesh…The penalty fee is RM142.60, my contract ends in early-mid November btw which makes it less than 2 months left. On a side note, I hate Maxis new trade-in policy. 2 years ago after trading in your old phone, Compasia will online transfer to your bank account the trade in amount. However now the trade-in amount will be credited to your Maxis account, and your trade-in credit will be deducted from your monthly fee... QUOTE(emilyngsc @ Sep 18 2023, 11:59 AM) Currently, I’m using 109+48. How come they offered 29 promo? Like that really not fair for loyal customers. That’s maxis for you… They called me and offer me to take a new sub line for 29 but I can’t convert my existing one from 48 to 29..QUOTE(ahlin @ Sep 18 2023, 02:01 PM) Hahaha, good to see you back here bro.. this is our usual annual reunion spot |

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT213839 Points to note: - 1. iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max support fast USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds up to 10Gbit per second when using an optional USB 3 cable. (The USB-C cable that comes with your iPhone supports charging and USB 2 speeds. If you want to use a USB 3 device, use a compliant USB 3 cable that supports 10Gbit/s - which Apple sells in Malaysia for RM399) 2. You can use your iPhone to charge your AirPods, Apple Watch, or another small device that supports USB Power Delivery at up to 4.5 watts. 3. iPhone uses the DisplayPort protocol to support connections to USB-C displays at up to 4K resolution and 60Hz. To connect your iPhone to high-resolution displays, use a USB-C cable that supports USB 3.1 or higher, such as the cable included with the display or the Thunderbolt 4 (USB‑C) Pro Cable (1 m), sold separately (but of course)… ezypepper liked this post
