All cable should be water proof rite as all hv the insulated layer. humm... when i google, the advantage only abt losses which i think not significant for domestic use i.e. autogate, doorbell, lamp post...

The question why need to use armored cable still in my mind n yet to decide which to use...
*
armoured cable is not about lossless signal transmission at all.. It is meant to withstand outside weather and harsh condition like rain, hot noon temperature, cold night temperature, etc. For a normal cable, if it used outside the house, in long term, the cable condition (its insulation and its copper wire) will quickly deteriorate, become brittle, etc. It can lead short circuit, damaging the autogate, or even a fire..

If want to know pricing, ask contractor onsite to quote. Rough quote can vary from -30% up to 200% more. Have to survey the job need to be done. Is not buying tv , fridges or notebook.

Yes is possible, olden days contractor use double insulator and PVC tubes. But thos days the cables quality are very good, but if you want 7cores you may need to have two PVC pipe.

Using conventional single insulation cables is not design to be outdoor use, risk are higher. No doubt many developer use such method, to them after few years no longer their problem.

My developer didn't provide cabling too. So autogate contractor advise using pvc pipe too but need 9 cabling. 8 cabling for autogate another 1 cabling for bell. do you know local which brands cabling better?

Armoured cables is preferred because it can withstand the element when buried underground. PVC pipe is also acceptable but you need to take into account soil settlement if your property is new and PVC pipe might crack under pressure and then your cable will be exposed, risking it being damage x yrs later then you need to spend money to replace it.

You want to lay on top of the concrete? Dont think its a good idea though.

Plus you will need a very large diameter of pipe to cover the cable. You can hack a channel along the side wall to your front gate then patch it over with cement.

Got budget use stainless steel pipe. Very nice if done properly.

If you are using dcmoto, you have option not to use incoming power from house by using solar. And that you don't need cabling.
